Don’t Turn Off The Power

I got a message from a cousin late yesterday afternoon. The message shared that since the power was going off and on so much, he had decided to turn the power off to the house altogether. High winds came through and then it began to rain. I responded that we too were experiencing high winds, rain and our power had gone off for about 3 minutes. After I responded he said he thought he was sending that message to his wife. We laughed and that was it.

Except this morning God uses that cousin’s words to speak to our hearts – just because My power seems intermittent or looks completely gone is no reason for you to turn off the power in your life.

Oh beloved, don’t turn off the power of God. He is working on your life. He is the power conduit, the line of connection and the Source of all power. Even when it looks like you should just give up and shut it all down, He is still working. It’s not too late, even today. He is not an 11th hour God. He is an On Time Lord. It may be your 11th hour, or feel like it, but you have nothing to worry about. God’s answers may not look like your desire nor your prayers, but God answers best, and His power is made perfect in your weakest moment. This is not time to turn the power connection off – it’s time to up the power being generated. Your life craves connection, so embrace Him and don’t let go now. If you feel like you are sitting in the dark, it doesn’t matter. As a believer the Light of the World, Jesus, is on you, with you and within you 24/7. No storm can disconnect you unless you choose to. And even then, the amazing, never ending love of God holds onto you.

God loves you and He’s for you. Stop looking at the storm and focus on the Lord. Stop allowing the enemy to whisper lies into your ears, instead look to the Word and believe. Let God work out the connections, let Him repair and restore your heart and mind. And live, beloved, as the power filled believer you are no matter what.

Psalm 62:11 Once God has spoken; twice have I heard this: that power belongs to God

I Corinthians 6:14 And God raised the Lord and will also raise us up by His power.

Ephesians 6:10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power.

2 Timothy 1:7 For God has not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

I Corinthians 1:24 But to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.

About Rebekah Beene

In a Women’s meeting in 1983, I went up for prayer and to see if God had “anything for me”. The woman of God who was praying for people spoke over my life. She said these words: “You will write books. You can go to the bank on it. Rivers of living water will flow from your belly…”
