Jesus Is At Work

Occasionally I just have crazy dreams. We laughingly call them pizza dreams. You know the ones you have if you eat something spicy? Well I had one of those dreams the other night. In the dream I was looking for a bar in a town. I found one and walked in. There were tables and a couple of people with drinks sitting there. And there was a man remodeling the bar. He had on white painter’s clothes and there were hunks of sheet rock laying around him as well as drop cloths. Just weird.

Until the next morning when I started telling my husband about the dream. As soon as I shared it, I knew it wasn’t a pizza dream. The man in white was Jesus. And He is always working in our presence or the presence of those we pray for. Even if there is no evidence of change or deliverance, He’s there and He’s literally doing something new in their lives.

Oh beloved, who are you praying for? Even if you are praying for yourself, God wants you to know this morning that He is working the problems, sins, difficulties, addictions, troubles or pains out for you. He is at work, right in the midst of the problem. It my look messy and you may see nothing but the mess. But that’s how the work of the Lord is – it looks messy but the mess is being turned into the glory of God. When Jesus steps in things change. His presence is heavenly. His presence is supernatural. His presence is to leave the 99 and go for the one lost sheep, the one worn out mom, the one frazzled dad, the one woman who can’t make sense of her life.

God wants you to know that His work is perfect. It’s not an excuse to live in sin or to keep wallowing in your troubles. It’s just that Jesus made a way for everyone to have everlasting life and to have a restored life here on earth. In the dream, Jesus wasn’t working in heaven, He was working in a bar. So wherever you are this morning you can be sure that He wants to help you and deliver you and restore your entire outlook on life. He loves those you love and He loves them more. Their lives may look like a pizza dream, but Jesus will not relent. Keep praying, keep seeking God, keep asking for help. This is what the Lord does best. He’s not a distant king on a throne in a castle behind walls you cannot enter. He is the One who gets into the mess and goes to work! Glory!

God loves you and He’s for you. He wants you to win in this life. He desires your descendants to live the life of a believer as well. Run to Him this morning and ask Him to reveal the areas where He is at work and trust Him for the best outcome. And live, beloved, in the Light of His presence and plan.

Psalm 138:8 The LORD will work out His plans for my life–for Your faithful love, O LORD, endures forever. Don’t abandon me, for You made me.

Matthew 18:12-13 “What do you think? If any man has a hundred sheep, and one of them has gone astray, does he not leave the ninety-nine on the mountains and go and search for the one that is straying? If it turns out that he finds it, truly I say to you, he rejoices over it more than over the ninety-nine which have not gone astray. So it is not the will of your Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones perish.”

James 5:16 Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.

I Peter 2:24 He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed.

Philippians 2:13 for it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure.

About rebekahbeene

In a Women’s meeting in 1983, I went up for prayer and to see if God had “anything for me”. The woman of God who was praying for people spoke over my life. She said these words: “You will write books. You can go to the bank on it. Rivers of living water will flow from your belly…”
