This is Your Season for the Gospel

Your mission field may not be in Africa or India but it is in your home, in your school, and at your job. Serve Christ well right where you're at.

One of our dear friends has been placed in a nursing facility. We were flabbergasted to hear of the news. We cannot see the reason but she is in her mid 80’s and suffering with some memory loss. It happens. While we want to remember her as a vital part of society, and especially part of the Christian community at large, we know that God has a plan for her even in the circumstances she finds herself in now.  One thing we know, wherever this dear saint is, she is sharing the Gospel and praying for people always.

As I pondered her situation God brought Paul and Silas to mind. He spoke to my heart, “Paul and Silas were in prison, but that did not keep Me from using them nor did it keep them from their ministry I had called them to.”  I reviewed what all happened while Paul and Silas were there and I saw that our circumstances cannot limit God.  Where will you be tomorrow? Where will I be?  I pray that we will be praising God so loudly that prison bars will burst open!  We don’t know ahead of time what life will bring us, but we know God is with us wherever we are.

Oh beloved, you may feel that you’ve been shut down by circumstances beyond your control. You may see yourself imprisoned by things that just cannot be changed. No one can keep you from your ministry in Christ. Whatever you are called to do, do it today. You are free to be who you are in Christ, wherever you are. Walk through the halls of your world and preach the Gospel, pray for people, ask God for divine intervention for those you love and read the Word. Where you are is no surprise to the Lord. You are in your ministry anointing for such a time as this. Don’t lament where you are but rather use it for Kingdom purpose. Whatever season of life you are in that is your mission field. Don’t waste another moment in tears or wishing you were somewhere else. Go forth in the anointing God has given you and shed the Light of the Lord where you are. Who knows whose prison bars will swing open because you ministered right where you are?

God loves you and He’s for you. He is able to change your circumstances in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye. But today, right where you are, thank Him, praise Him and give Him the glory for you are His beloved and you are an invaluable member of the Kingdom of Light!

Acts 16:25-26, 30 But about midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns of praise to God, and the prisoners were listening to them; and suddenly there came a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison house were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened and everyone’s chains were unfastened.  And after [the jailer] brought them out, he said, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?”

James 5:13 Are any of you suffering hardships? You should pray. Are any of you happy? You should sing praises.

Colossians 3:16 Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God.

I Peter 1:25 you also, as living stones, are being built up as a spiritual house for a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

About Rebekah Beene

In a Women’s meeting in 1983, I went up for prayer and to see if God had “anything for me”. The woman of God who was praying for people spoke over my life. She said these words: “You will write books. You can go to the bank on it. Rivers of living water will flow from your belly…”
