You Are A Delight

Our fur baby is not the first dog we’ve had. You might say it’s not our first rodeo. We started out with Stormy as a found puppy of our newlywed years. Followed by a rescued pup from the city outskirts. Then there were the pups of our own kiddos’ childhoods. Some were very short ownership, either by disaster or disappearance. Some were long lasting pets, living through their own disasters and staying around till old age. We’ve had every kind, size, type and temperament. Loved pups all of them. But this pup of our aged years – he’s changed everything. What hubby said last night, “He is a real delight”.

He’s a delight. Even if he’s not the only one. Even if he’s the last one. Even if we’ve loved and cared for quite a few other pups. He still has his own special place just for our hearts.

Oh beloved, did you know? You are a real delight to the Lord. It’s as though you are the only one. God has enough love to pass on to you, even after all the love He’s poured out on everyone. You’ve lived through your own disasters and you have remained.
You can’t give yourself credit for this life though. Jesus stepped out of eternity because He wanted you to experience His ownership. His loving, caring, watchful, teaching life over yours. There’s no shadow you have to succumb to. There’s no disaster you have to never get over. Heart aches for sure, but God heals the broken hearted and binds up their wounds – including yours.

God loves you and He wants to change your life. It starts with knowing your value in Christ. Give Him your life fresh and new this morning. Return Home to Him. Your struggles will seem less painful and your regrets and missteps will vanish, as you lay at His feet and worship Him for who He is for you personally and forever.

John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father except through Me.”

Romans 5:2 Because of our faith, Christ has brought us into this place of undeserved privilege where we now stand, and we confidently and joyfully look forward to sharing God’s glory.

2 Corinthians 7:10 For the kind of sorrow God wants us to experience leads us away from sin and results in salvation. There’s no regret for that kind of sorrow. But worldly sorrow, which lacks repentance, results in spiritual death.

2 Thessalonians 3:16 Now may the Lord of peace Himself continually grant you peace in every circumstance. The Lord be with you all!

About Rebekah Beene

In a Women’s meeting in 1983, I went up for prayer and to see if God had “anything for me”. The woman of God who was praying for people spoke over my life. She said these words: “You will write books. You can go to the bank on it. Rivers of living water will flow from your belly…”
