Go Dig For Diamonds – Wednesday, June 5

A couple of years ago one of Danny’s friends from South Africa told him that he felt Danny was supposed to go dig at the Arkansas Diamond Mine. This mine is actually a huge field of dirt with no grass or greener at all. It looks quite barren.

Well Danny did. He spent most of an entire day digging, sifting and looking. He found nothing of any real value. However people do find diamonds and other semi precious stones. Mostly found by people who keep looking and keep digging.

What I now believe God was doing was showing us both that we would need to know how to mime for God’s riches in a barren field we would encounter in Life. Both Danny and I had to dig deeper through illness and issues to find the truly valuable and keep it close to us all the way.

Oh beloved, God delights in perseverance and in spiritual vision. Sometimes we have to dig for the valuable in the midst of our open, barren fields.

Your barren field is full of uncovered gems. God is saying to you this morning, Go and dig. Explore the depths. Ask Him for tools to help you in your pursuit of Him and His riches. He intends to meet your every need even in the harshest environment. He intends to give you insight even when you see nothing in the natural. When He says go that is your time to go. He sees more and knows more than you can. But as you follow Him obediently you will unearth gems of the Spirit that will pay the way for your victory!

You may not be able to see it or even less feel it, but your barren field is about to produce a bumper crop! Pray, dig into God’s Word, plow your fallow ground and watch as He changes you and your surroundings in monumental, supernatural ways!

God loves you and he’s for you. That’s why you can trust him and heed his words. Run to him this morning and thank him. And bless his name for the riches that are yours for the uncovering. And walk in the security of all he tells you in the light of his mercy and grace.

Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

Proverbs 2:3-4 Cry out for insight,
and ask for understanding. Search for them as you would for silver;
seek them like hidden treasures.

Jeremiah 29:13 You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.

Matthew 13:44 The kingdom of heaven is like a treasure hidden in the field, which a man found and hid again; and from joy over it he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.

God is Sole Owner – Sunday, June 3

When we stopped at a local Walmart on our visit to Texas there were cattle grazing in the field across the street. Highly unusual to say the least. More surprising, when we got to our destination we found out those cattle were on the same ranch we were visiting. Nearly 1000 acres of farmland right in the midst of the West Texas city.

Oh beloved, God speaks to my heart and yours. He wants his children to know today that He is sole owner of the entire world. Because He is sovereign He can give amazing views when we see nothing but sorrow.

He understands your life. God is not indifferent to your view of things. But He is asking you today to take another look. Apply the Word as your viewfinder. Apply the Spirit as your scope. There is so much more at stake than your present situation. God is able to paint such a landscape that you can see the extraordinary amidst the ordinary. You can take in the supernatural in the midst of the natural. You aren’t hoping you get to see something wonderful, you are right in the middle of the wonderful! This is the glorious life. To travel through spirit sights and to see Him show you His love and His Power right where you are!

God loves you and He’s for you. Open your eyes and see- He has given you His Spirit to live the amazing life and see His amazing acts of amazing proportions! Run to Him this morning and ask Him to show you more. And then you will thrive in the landscape of His wonderful plans for your life!

Psalm 33:6 By the word of the LORD the heavens were made, their starry host by the breath of His mouth.

Isaiah 44:24 This is what the LORD says— your Redeemer, who formed you in the womb: I am the LORD, the Maker of all things, who stretches out the heavens, who spreads out the earth by Myself.

Ephesians 1:19 I also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God’s power for us who believe Him.

Hebrews 10:38 Now the just shall live by faith.

Passing You By? – Saturday, June 2

While traveling along the interstate yesterday we passed a couple of trucks that had passed us back down the road. Our steady pace seemed to be the best way to make good time. There were the speed demons who always wanted to pass when there was no place to do so. Yes for sure steady travel at safe distances from other cars was the safest way to go.

Oh beloved, do you feel like people are passing you by? Do you feel that you just can’t keep up? God wants you to know that th steady pace of faith is the best way to travel high with Him. He also wants you to know that you aren’t in competition with anyone. You don’t have to worry about getting ahead or staying with the crowd. Just follow Jesus. He will get you where you need to go right on time. Your life is precious to Him. Your destiny is confirmed by Him. And your final destination is insured by Him.

There are things you think are long gone dreams. But His plans are perfect. His route is best and He has kept His watchful eye on you continuously. There’s nothing to worry about because He is caring for you all the way. Nobody else has the right to give you directions or to tell you to drive faster. You won’t be late and you will safely arrive just where God wants you. Competition is not your calling. You are even able to rest and be at peace all along the way. What a blessing!

God loves you and He’s for you. As you travel through Life thank Him for all he has done. Bless Him for His Secure Word. And tel Him how wonderful it is to travel through life in the security of His supernatural ways!

2 Corinthians 9:8 And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.

Psalm 32:8 I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you.

Hebrews 13:6 So we can confidently say, “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; What can man do to me?”

Philippians 1:6 And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.

Five Minute Friday – RETURN

Each week we are asked to write on a word prompt for five minutes.  Here goes:

Wow, this year has been a year of returns.

I returned my own will to the Lord.  When Danny got sick all our plans flew out the window.  Sickness was not in the plan.  My will had to be given over to God for safekeeping until I could see His will in the worst place we’d ever been.

I swiftly returned to my first love with my hubby.  All the things that seemed so important outside of our relationship no longer mattered.  It was again, as at the first, me and him…and Jesus.

I returned to my first need – to please the Lord alone.  Other people whom I had often put first, even coddled, and enabled were taken off the front burner of activity and placed in the back shelf of prayer. I don’t blame them. It’s just what I was doing.  It wasn’t easy but it was best.

Most of all I returned to the Lord like never before.  I was left with close quarters and a husband to help and to pray over in Jesus’ name.  God proved so very faithful.  He met us in the dark corners of hospital rooms and our hearts.  I’m so very thankful.

Oh beloved, return to the Lord. Give Him first place!  Let Him fix what’s broken because you cannot fix a thing.  Return to the Word and believe it for your life. And return to prayer because apart from conversation with Him you can do nothing.

God loves you and He’s for you.  It’s never too late to return to Him.  And to return the enemy’s demonic attacks back on his ear.  Blessed are those who believe God and return THANKS for all He has done!

Zechariah 1:3 So tell the people that this  is what the LORD of Hosts says: ‘Return to Me,’ declares the LORD of Hosts, ‘and I will return to you,’ says the LORD of Hosts.

I Thessalonians 4:1 Finally, dear brothers and sisters, we urge you in the name of the Lord Jesus to live in a way that pleases God, as we have taught you. You live this way already, and we encourage you to do so even more.

1 Samuel 14:35 Then Saul built an altar to the LORD; it was the first time he had built an altar to the LORD.

Luke 8:39 “Return home and tell how much God has done for you.” So the man went away and told all over town how much Jesus had done for him.

Jesus is The Best Teacher

The classroom of life is nOt difficult as long as you have the right teacher.I remember every teacher that I had throughout school. But two stand out as my all time favorites. My first-grade teacher was so wonderful that I insisted I go on to school one morning after having the car door slammed on my thumb! I wasn’t missing a single day. The other was a 6th grade teacher. She was older (now I’m sure she was so very young) and had teenage children and dogs named Adolph and Amanda. She was so thrilled to be teaching and loved to give us amazing things to do in class. She infused the desire to learn in all of us. I would say both of these women were following a calling more than just a job. It made all the difference.

Jesus is the Best Teacher. He doesn’t just know His stuff, He’s infused with it. The Word became flesh and dwelt among us. He is what He teaches! He is I AM. His classroom is our life and He loves to teach and show us amazing things out of His Word. His greatest desire is to give us faith and cause us to walk in His Precepts all of our lives. His teaching method includes wisdom, power and love. His degree is not of this world and He wants to imbue us with everything for life and godliness.

Oh beloved, maybe you feel it’s too late. You’ve got problems and they are weighing heavily on you this morning. What new could you learn? You’re just tired, worn out, weary from all you’ve gone through. From the difficulties of your childhood to the complications of your adult life – problems keep showing up. Life has been a hard taskmaster. You’re about ready to quit and walk out on everything. Bitterness has crept in and misery is overtaking you. Learning another lesson feels like your way of life. Waiting for your answers to all these problems is a bone-weary activity.

But wait! Have you heard? Did you know? God’s plans for you are still to reach out into your life, pick you up off the floor and replace the negative with fresh joy! He was with you when going through it all and He’s not retiring from His position now. You aren’t the sum of your problems, nor your raising, nor the bad teachers you might have had along the way. You are a representative of God’s mercy and grace! He is lifting you up even this day to new heights. You’re about to be set free from what has held you back for so long. Problems won’t be a problem anymore, because you are going to take each one to the Father. Instead of asking Him why and living in the doldrums, you are going to release each thing to Him and ask Him to show you how to learn and graduate from victim to victor!

It sounds easy doesn’t it? But God will teach you everything you need to know for this life. He starts by gathering you up in His love and healing all the old wounds so that you can walk without a cane and dance without a limp. He will wipe away your tears and uncomplicate the troubles you’ve been through. His desire is to not just teach you but set you free to be who you are destined to be in Christ!

God loves you and He’s for you. Trust Him today and give Him your old records. Let Him change everything for you and give you joy in the middle of it all. It may not all be perfect but your God is good and His lessons last a lifetime. Rejoice that you can start over today and live in the Light of His Word and His Love!

Romans 15:4 For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide we might have hope.

2 Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness

Psalm 119:30 The teaching of Your Word gives light, so even the simple can understand.

Isaiah 46:4 Even to your old age and gray hairs I am He, I am He who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you.
