Fitness Novelty – Saturday September 1, 2018

I’ve been wearing a fitness watch for a couple of weeks. It’s a fun accessory with all its messages and notations. It even reminds me to get up and move if I sit at my desk too long. The alarm is set on it as well. But that alarm is a simple buzz on my wrist. Most of the time I don’t feel that little prompt unless I am already awake. I have to rely on something much louder to wake me up from deep sleep. Still it’s a novelty that helps in some ways.

But God – He is no novelty. And He helps me in many ways. Even when my alarm fails He wakes me right on time. Even when I am unsure of my next move He will prompt me to rise up and go. He is better than a fitness watch because He loves me and cares about every detail of my life.

Oh beloved, don’t you believe for a moment that you aren’t cared for. God cares about you so much that He moved His only Son to the cross so that you could be free to live and move and have a life of fitness for the Kingdom. Motivation is hard at times – you don’t feel like moving, going the extra mile, keeping up the prayers you’ve prayed so long and more. But Christ in you – well it’s your built in motivation – your inspiration and incentive to keep on going when it would be easier to give up.

God wants you to know that you aren’t the sum of your missed alarms or your lack of movement. He doesn’t count your past against you, He uses your past to show you how far you can go beyond yourself when you allow Him to bless you with favor, joy, peace and strength! It’s time for you to rely on who He says you are. He calls you royal, holy, blessed, redeemed, powerful, wise, and full of His motivating love! You are the beautiful expression of a life that is born again – so that now your heart won’t fail in the midst of turmoil, pain, sorrow or any other situation. You will rise up in spite of the weather and give praise to God for His loving hand that kept your heart beating all night and gave you fresh breath and purpose this morning!

God loves you and He’s for you – the Word will make you fit for things beyond your wildest imagination. Rejoice that you get to wake up and take up the Word of God. And you get to live a supernatural life of extraordinary courage, faith and authority as you walk in the Light of God’s plan for your life!

Matthew 19:26 But Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

Romans 12:11 Never lag in zeal and in earnest endeavor; be aglow and burning with the Spirit, serving the Lord.

Isaiah 40:29 He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless.

Psalm 143:8 Let me hear Your lovingkindness in the morning; For I trust in You; Teach me the way in which I should walk; For to You I lift up my soul.

A Bride of Christ

Each morning the internet has headlines about wild and crazy things going on. This morning I read where a bride canceled her wedding because the guests refused to pay the $1500 attendance fee. She even accused her friends and family of ruining her marriage and her life.

As I read the story I was reminded of how the enemy of our soul always had grandiose ideas like revenge, animosity and self-centered acts of reward. His plan is to convince us that we must have something and then when we can’t get it, he wants us to blame others. He is never happy and the price we have to pay after his work is done is far too high.

Oh beloved, God’s plan for your life includes you as the Bride of Christ. There will be a beautiful, out of this world wedding one day. But your life is full of faith, peace, gentleness and good works while you are waiting. You may feel like you’ve been left at the altar. But God is about to turn your mourning into dancing. He’s about to sweep you up into His heart and give you more than you’ve ever dreamed of. And with it you have no cost to pay – for Christ paid it all for you. All you need now is to follow Him with all of your heart. Those things you thought you wanted that would provide fulfillment can never do what a love story with Jesus can do. While beautiful weddings are lovely and beautiful earthly things can be enjoyed, there is nothing more beautiful than life with the Lord. His vows are forever – you are eternally safe, accepted, held, loved and always welcome to have a relationship with Him. Fear of not measuring up, fitting in or finding real love has to go – for God will calm all your fears with His love. You may feel quite ordinary but God has set you apart and chosen you for His own. Big wedding, little ceremony or not married at all – you have a love that is worth dying for and Jesus has given that to you as a gift!

God loves you and He’s for you – always, forever, unbroken vows. Death will not separate you, misunderstandings won’t alienate you from Him. Rehearse the vows of the Lord every morning and remember who you are and to whom you belong. And live the life of faith – worshiping, living and enjoying your life in Christ no matter what else is going on!

Isaiah 54:5For your Maker is your husband, the Lord of hosts is his name; and the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer, the God of the whole earth he is called.

Hosea 2:19 So I will betroth you to Me forever; I will betroth you in righteousness and justice, in loving devotion and compassion.

Isaiah 62:4 It will no longer be said to you, “Forsaken,” Nor to your land will it any longer be said, “Desolate”; But you will be called, “My delight is in her,” And your land, “Married”; For the LORD delights in you, And to Him your land will be married.

I Thessalonians 5:18 Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.

2 Corinthians 3:18 But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit.

Through Eyes Of Pure Love

We’ve been doing some cleaning out and throwing away lately. Among the box of school mementos that I put into a plastic tub was a self portrait of our youngest daughter. She had pencil drawn it from a photograph. It was a good likeness of her, especially since she wasn’t more than 9 or 10 when she drew it. I posted it along with some other memories on a photo site. Her response was “This is why I switched to art in the form of music.” My response was “But it’s good!” And of course her response was that, no its really not.

How often have we played this scenario in our heads about life? Our attempts at things can leave us very self-critical. But there’s always the LORD who never speaks critically. He’s better than a mom! Moms love what their children do, whether it’s art or other talents and they see everything through eyes of love. That’s the Lord. He sees us through eyes of pure love.

Oh beloved, what are you hoping to accomplish? What is your goal? You may have given yourself a mediocre grade for life. But God is surveying your life with His keen eye of love. He’s not refusing to see your flaws, He says you are lovely and cherished, chosen and redeemed. He sees the new you, through the eyes of your Savior, covered by the infilling of Holy Spirit. It’s time to stop being so critical of yourself. Mistakes will be made. Messes will happen. Life will be hard to navigate at times. But you are always loved. Even if you have fallen far from the Father’s perfect will, you woke up this day fully alive. That means God still has a plan for you. And all His plans are good! You may not be perfect at anything in your own mind, but through Christ you are being perfected and your anointings and gifts are pure gold. Don’t waste another day bemoaning your weaknesses, replaying your past mistakes, rehearsing your future fears. This is your finest hour and your best day – you get to live for the glory of the Lord and be His showcase of supernatural talent and gifting for His glory alone!

God loves you and He’s for you. Jump on that bandwagon beloved. Know that even though in the flesh no good dwells in you, in the Spirit you are mighty through God! Rejoice in His thoughts about you and His power within you. Run to Him this morning and ask Him to give you fresh perspective as you live, move and have your being totally in the Light of His thoughts about you.

1 Thessalonians 5:23- 24 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. The One who calls you is faithful, and He will do it.

1 Corinthians 1:30 It is because of Him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God: our righteousness, holiness, and redemption.

James 1:4 Allow perseverance to finish its work, so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.

Psalm 37:5 Commit your way to the LORD; trust in Him, and He will do it.

I Corinthians 1:26 For consider your calling, brethren, that there were not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble;

Lamentations 3:22 The LORD’S lovingkindnesses indeed never cease, For His compassions never fail.

Five Minute Friday – LOYAL

Loyal LoveFirst, let me say loyal doesn’t apply to a handful of people on this planet.  Not really.

And second, let me tell you I pray to be a loyal person, loyal to God first and loyal to my loved ones, friend and family.

The most loyal person I’ve ever met is Jesus.  When He introduced Himself to me it was forever and He has never left me or failed me. He won’t rat me out, in fact He talks fondly to the Father about me. And He rebukes the enemy on my behalf.  He is a loyal friend who has stuck closer than a brother.

My other best most loyal person is my sweet hubby. The enemy thought many times he could get us off the path of being loyal to one another. But that’s never happened. Even in the throes of the stroke last year we didn’t get farther apart, we got closer together.

Oh beloved, are you looking for someone loyal? Have you been disappointed by the loyalty found in human beings?  Don’t worry, don’t fret. Just get with Jesus. He will always stick with you, always take up for you and keep you safe always.  As you learn to lean on Him more and more, you will find that others’ disloyalty doesn’t hurt near as bad.

God loves you and He’s for you always, no matter what- now that’s loyalty!

Deuteronomy 7:9 Know therefore that the LORD your God, He is God, the faithful God, who keeps His covenant and His lovingkindness to a thousandth generation with those who love Him and keep His commandments;

I Corinthians 1:9 God is faithful, through whom you were called into fellowship with His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

Not On My Bucket List!

Yesterday the guy who put in windows and gutters came back to the house. He needed to install a new screen and replace another one. He also needed to get up on the roof to check on the gutter and locate where it was leaking. Of course, my husband was up on the roof before I knew it. He was quickly joined by our installer and together they found and caulked the problem area. I can tell you right now I’ve never been on the roof of any house, nor do I plan to get up there. That’s not on my bucket list, it’s on my avoidance list!

Oh beloved, are you concerned with the dangerous places of life? Pain, rejection, isolation, worry, loss, and more? They look dangerous because you are viewing them from ground level – in the flesh. But as the Lord views them from His perspective, they aren’t nearly as dangerous. In fact, He loves to get up close and personal so He can hone in on the problem and work His miracles over your danger zones!

Here’s the truth about your life and your walk with the Lord – God knows you by name so He understands you completely, more than any other person on earth. He is your provider, so He is absolutely able to provide for every situation you find yourself in. He is your guard, always watchful, always attentive, always protecting you. He is your shelter, your portion, your best friend, so that in all things, in all ways, in all that you do – He takes care of you and stays with you through it all. The highs and lows of life don’t make you dizzy because He is walking you through it all. Even when He calls you to go where you want to avoid – you can do it because you never go alone! He even makes the bitter water sweet and stops the damaging flow of the enemy from harming you as you travel through this life!

God loves you and He’s for you. Lord, we pray today that we can develop a trust in You like those men had such trust in the roof holding them up and that they would not fall. We understand Lord that you have things you want to accomplish in us and through us. We loose ourselves from fears and worries and release ourselves into Your hands. Problem areas we give to you as you cause us to rise on the heights and live in the Light of Your miraculous ways!

2 Samuel 22:34 He makes my feet like the feet of a deer and stations me upon the heights.

Psalm 27:1 The LORD is my light and my salvation–whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life–whom shall I dread?

1 Samuel 2:1 At that time Hannah prayed: “My heart rejoices in the LORD in whom my horn is exalted. My mouth speaks boldly against my enemies, for I rejoice in Your salvation.”

Psalm 31:3 For You are my rock and my fortress; lead and guide me for the sake of Your name.
