Having artists in the family has always been wonderful. My sister loved to paint portraits, so we have a couple of family photos that she painted, including one of me at about age 12. My brother loves to paint landscape so I am blessed to have a couple of those hanging in our home. I know they were once blank canvases, but now each one is colorful and completely painted in. I have no blank canvases from either of them.
Oh beloved, this morning God speaks. He says to us all – you are a beautiful piece of artwork. Unlike how artists work, I didn’t start with you as a blank canvas. I loved you before you were born again. I love you still.
Here’s what God does: He takes the painting called us and renders it brand new. He doesn’t make us empty of our personality or our essence. He makes both of these things into beauty. That’s why no matter where a person comes to faith FROM, they are useful in the Master’s Hands. Everyone is still different, even when born again. He makes artwork out of us all. Aren’t we glad? Your life is a beautiful rendering of Christ in you the hope of glory. And mine is too. Amazing!
God wants you to know today that He knows how to take out what’s not of Him and replace it with Himself. He paints Himself into our lives a brush stroke at a time. Your old sins are no longer part of your portrait because Jesus Blotted them Out at the Cross! If you’re still dealing with old stuff, know that the Lord has decreed you to be brand new. The enemy wants you struggling with the Artist, Father God, and stay a poor representation of life in Christ. But God! He is making all things new, including you!
God loves you and He’s for you. Run to Him this morning and ask for a fresh outlook on your life. Ask Him to remove what is not of Him and what is harmful to your life. His portrait of your life is a work in progress but your partnership with His will helps make your life so beautiful even in the process!
