You Don’t Have To Pretend

My children used to make up stories to play. They’d say, “Let’s tend-like”. That meant they were going to pretend to be someone else and make up events. One of their favorites was to pretend to have a grocery store. One would stay inside and open the bedroom window, pretending they worked at the fictional store. The other would stand outside at the window and pretend they were buying things.

Oh beloved, this morning God speaks to our hearts. You don’t have to pretend. In fact, pretending won’t be fun at all. In the Kingdom of God you are born again or you aren’t. Pretending will be quite dangerous for you. But there’s hope! When you give your life to Christ and accept His plan for your life, you have the new life of a believer. Old things are passed away. Old troubles are gone. Old mindsets are released. Old games are stopped.

God says this morning is a good morning to live in the real world of Kingdom Truth. What did Jesus do? Do that! It’s real. What does the Word say? Follow those Words! That’s real. Prayer is real. Faith is real. Praise and worship are real. Standing against evil is real. Waiting on God is real. Giving Him your problems is real. He’s not a somewhere, lofty presence. He is the Great I AM. And as you learn to live in the Truth of life in Christ, you will not be swayed to play pretend. And you won’t be fooled by the great pretender – Satan himself.

Oh precious believer, get to know God in the power of His resurrection! In the fellowship of His sufferings as well. For knowing Christ in reality may cause problems. But those problems are small and won’t last long. You are inheriting a Kingdom Incorruptible! Glory!

God loves you and He’s for you. He really is real. His ways are your best route for both times of sorrow and joy. You don’t have to pretend with Him for He knows you better than anyone else. Run to Him and let Him renew your vows and live in the Light of His Truth and His Plan for your life!

Philippians 3:10 that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death

Jeremiah 9:23 This is what the LORD says: “Let not the wise man boast in his wisdom, nor the strong man in his strength, nor the wealthy man in his riches.”

Jeremiah 9:23 This is what the LORD says: “Let not the wise man boast in his wisdom, nor the strong man in his strength, nor the wealthy man in his riches.”

I Peter 1:23 for you have been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever

Ephesians 4:22-24 that, in reference to your former manner of life, you lay aside the old self, which is being corrupted in accordance with the lusts of deceit, and that you be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and put on the new self, which in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth.

About Rebekah Beene

In a Women’s meeting in 1983, I went up for prayer and to see if God had “anything for me”. The woman of God who was praying for people spoke over my life. She said these words: “You will write books. You can go to the bank on it. Rivers of living water will flow from your belly…”
