The Accidental Hallelujah

This morning I got up and sticky notes came to mind. We used them profusely at work. And we loved to use colorful ones. But as I looked through old papers, I found a note to me from a teacher that read “Rebekah is a lovely girl. She is improving all the time.” This note had the imprint of a long-gone paper clip that had rusted on the paper. Not fancy, just a plain piece of old paper that was once clipped to something else. Both the invention of sticky notes and that old message from a teacher were hallelujah moments. The sticky note hallelujah was given to a man during a church service. The old note hallelujah was given to me at my kitchen bar.

Oh beloved, God wants you to know this morning that your life is a hallelujah moment for Him. He loves you beyond measure. He loves you beyond measure. He loves you beyond measure. If you know this love and have received it without hesitation then you too have had a hallelujah moment about the Lord.

But there’s more. Every day is a hallelujah moment. Your life is fragile but strong. Strong because the King of Kings sticks to you better than the glue on a sticky note. You will never look at your life and see an old rusty place where He used to be. He’s here with you this morning. He is with those you pray for. He is always seeking and speaking and calling out to the lost, the prodigal, the saved.

As you look for hallelujahs this morning, don’t despair. God speaks in church. Hallelujah! He also speaks in your house, at your office, in your car and while you wonder where He is. God gave me that message from an old teacher to say this to both me and you: “You are lovely and you are improving all the time.” Stop trying to work yourself into a frazzle to be good enough for Him. Instead learn how to live loved and abide in His love. You will find that the hallelujahs come more often as you focus on your relationship with Him. God is always giving His Word and His plans to His own. And you have far to go and much to accomplish for the Kingdom, just by abiding in Him.

God loves you and He’s for you. Hallelujah! Reach out to Him this morning and ask for more wisdom, power and love. He will show you and give you His best. As you abide in His love and live for His Kingdom alone!

Zephaniah 3:17 For the LORD your God is living among you. He is a mighty savior. He will take delight in you with gladness. With His love, He will calm all your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful songs.

John 6:45 It is written in the Prophets: ‘And they will all be taught by God.’ Everyone who has heard the Father and learned from Him comes to Me.

John 14:17 the Spirit of truth. The world cannot receive Him, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him. But you do know Him, for He abides with you and will be in you.

Psalm 136:26 Give thanks to the God of heaven. His faithful love endures forever.

About Rebekah Beene

In a Women’s meeting in 1983, I went up for prayer and to see if God had “anything for me”. The woman of God who was praying for people spoke over my life. She said these words: “You will write books. You can go to the bank on it. Rivers of living water will flow from your belly…”
