Swaddled In God’s Comfort and Care

The thought of an invading army from another place into our precious country is quite unsettling. As I woke up thinking about this situation, I saw a newborn baby wrapped in a swaddler. That baby was completely calm and totally comforted. It wasn’t affected by what was going on around it and it literally could sleep like a baby, even though this particular baby was smiling.

Oh beloved, when worldly people do worldly things, our world is shaken. But we have this amazing God who swaddles us in Himself. The invasion of the enemy of our souls cannot take our peace from us, as long as we are wrapped up in the Lord. But we are so often like a baby not swaddled – we are flailing our arms and crying out for comfort. We humans are prone to leave the only Source of Comfort, Safety and Care we have. We either try to comfort ourselves our look to something or someone else.

But Jesus says this morning, “Come to Me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” What an invitation! You don’t have to live flailing, panicked, tortured lives! You have a Savior who has given you access to heaven one day. But He has taught you to live in His Kingdom Comfort today. You aren’t a victim of the world leaders, some who don’t even know God. You are a victor even this morning. And as you pray for others, know that God cares about them as well. You may think you need to feel worried, but the Lord says “Don’t worry about anything”. You are the Ambassador of Kingdom of Heaven in your sphere of influence. The enemy wants you to knuckle under and bow to his fear tactics. But this morning the Lord is reminding you that He has called you out of darkness into His marvelous Light. What a place of prominence and peace you are in – all because of Jesus!

God loves you and He’s for you. That may be your only Comfort this morning. AS you allow Him to swaddle you in His life and His Word you can know that you will live in the Light in spite of darkness all around. And you will live it smiling to heaven for your reward is coming soon!

Isaiah 45:22 Turn to Me and be saved, all the ends of the earth; For I am God, and there is no other.

Matthew 11:28 Come to Me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.

Philippians 4:6 Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all He has done.

Jeremiah 31:25 for I will refresh the weary soul and replenish all who are weak.

Psalm 116:6-7 The LORD watches over the simple; I was brought low, and He saved me. Return to your rest, my soul, for the LORD has dealt generously with you.

About Rebekah Beene

In a Women’s meeting in 1983, I went up for prayer and to see if God had “anything for me”. The woman of God who was praying for people spoke over my life. She said these words: “You will write books. You can go to the bank on it. Rivers of living water will flow from your belly…”
