I saw new photos of one of my daughter’s high school friends. The photo was of the friend as mother of the bride. And I was transported to that mother of the bride’s wedding. The one where my daughter was a bridesmaid. Just yesterday, right? If you don’t believe 25 years can fly by, well you haven’t allowed yourself to look at photos on social media for sure.

Oh beloved, even though time flies, it’s not a reason to give up on life. Why not enjoy the photos? Why not reminisce about the years? Your life is so hemmed in blessings that you cannot imagine how protected you have been. Yes, of course hard things have happened along the way. But even in the hard things, God has shown up for you. You are alive and that makes your life amazing. Don’t live for the sorrows. Live for the rejoicing. Don’t waste another day regretting the past. Leave it back there. If you are in Christ, everything is in the sea of forgetfulness. The forgiveness you received through Christ follows you everywhere. No excuse to live a sloppy life. But a reason to let go of what you can’t change. You’re not a victim of anything or anyone. You are a redeemed believer who has reason to give praise and enjoy this day!

God loves you and He’s for you. Always. Your times are in His hands. So lift up your head, rejoice in the memories, give thanks for today. And live in the Light of God’s wonderful glory and grace!

Psalm 31:15 My times are in Your hands…

Ecclesiastes 2:25 For apart from Him, who can eat and who can find enjoyment?

Psalm 9:2 I will be filled with joy because of you. I will sing praises to your name, O Most High.

Romans 5:2 through whom we also have obtained our introduction by faith into this grace in which we stand; and we celebrate in hope of the glory of God.

About Rebekah Beene

In a Women’s meeting in 1983, I went up for prayer and to see if God had “anything for me”. The woman of God who was praying for people spoke over my life. She said these words: “You will write books. You can go to the bank on it. Rivers of living water will flow from your belly…”
