The first thing that comes to mind are the rescue dogs and puppies I often see on social media. Our own Humane Society in town is overrun with them. And truthfully, I am not sure who will ever want to adopt some of them. They need rescuing for sure. And I remember my own rescue puppy from childhood. We went to the humane society and there she was – a little chihuahua mix. She was standing on an old stump as though she were trying to be seen and to look better!
Oh beloved, we are all rescues aren’t we? Really, the most talented, good looking, put together of us. We look at ourselves and sometimes deep down inside, we want to be rescued. But we feel that nobody would really want us. We’ve been rejected at times, left out, cast off on the side of the road of life.
But God says He isn’t waiting until you are worthy. He sent His Son to rescue you because you could never be worthy on your own. And yet, He sees your worth and your potential – not as what you can do, but as how you can live rescued! What you see and what God sees are two different things. Let God rescue you this morning. And be so glad and thankful! And accept all it means to be rescued by the Lord. You now have a new home, a full bowl of all His delights and a warm place to lie down for rest. No one will ever remove you from this heavenly setting. You don’t need to worry that you might get discarded again. For even if you are discarded by some human being, you will never be discarded through Christ.
God loves you and He’s for you. Oh what He sees in you is His Truth! Rejoice that you have been rescued from the dark domain and been taken to live in the Light! And learn to live rescued, restored, revived and renewed – in the Light of Jesus’s Glory and Grace!
Galatians 1:4 Who gave Himself for our sins to rescue us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father
2 Peter 2:9 If this is so, then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials and to hold the unrighteous for punishment on the day of judgment.
Colossians 1:13 He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son

As I sit and write this now,
the house is quiet, and at peace
and it may be hard to know how
there’s the gift of this release
when fifteen dogs rest in their places, my
fed and walked and watered, too
fifteen happy hearts and graces
that we have, with trust, seen through
abandonment and scary days
alone and in the desert, lost,
but their saving brings God praise
and no matter what the cost
we wash our canine friends of fleas,
and thus care for the least of these,

I never tire of the message of how much God loves us. I just wish more people could know and accept this wonderful truth. Keep preaching it sister it is so needed. Love that we are rescued and once we are nothing can change that. God bless. Visiting from fmf #4

My favorite line: “…a full bowl of all his delights…” God loves to dish out his love for us, doesn’t he? Thank you, Rebekah
