Our oldest granddaughter was showing me photos of her trip to Spain from several years ago. She loves to travel and photography is one of her loves as well. One of the photos was of a local carnival with the biggest ferris wheel I’ve ever seen. She and her friend rode that ferris wheel while she was there. Not only would I not feel comfortable traveling to other countries I would not be riding ferris wheels anywhere. I did that once as a child and it was disastrous. LOL Of course I admire her bravery. But I don’t want to even attempt to be that brave.
Oh beloved, we all have things we experienced as a child that we have vowed never to do again. Fear takes us all by the throat and tries to choke the life right out of us. While nobody has to ride a ferris wheel to be truly brave, we do have to watch so that our fears don’t choke the life of faith out of us.
God sees your fears. He is so intimately acquainted with you that He not only sees them, He understands what makes you so fearful. But today His desire is to free you from all your fears. Fear has never given anyone more time, more health, more fun or more truth. In fact fear is a real choking hazard. It keeps people at home, away from others, unable to deal with troubles. But you aren’t like that. Because the spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you. And that promise says that He will quicken your mortal body. God gives life to your body and makes it rise up and live another day! Your times are in His hands. Your future is secure in Christ. Your dreams aren’t nightmares that give you fear to move forward. Your dreams are God sized – bigger than you dare to enjoy – and only God can fulfill them. You aren’t the sum of all your fears, worries, anxiety and hesitation. You are a living example of those who are fearless and live for Jesus doing exploits for the Kingdom of God!
God loves you and He’s for you. There’s no fear in His love. Run to Him this morning and give Him praise for setting you free from your fears. And live valiantly in the Light of His wonderful freedom to live for Him with your whole heart!
Romans 8:11 But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.
Psalm 34:4 I sought the LORD and He answered me, And rescued me from all my fears.
2 Timothy 1:7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
Daniel 11:32 Those who do wickedly against the covenant he shall corrupt with flattery; but the people who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits.
