A Meltdown

Yesterday morning we had a bit of a meltdown at our house. If you don’t know what a meltdown is, in this case it’s when the plans of the day get overshadowed by the harsh reality of getting up early and getting ready. It can look like a disaster sometimes because who likes to insist? LOL It turned out fine, but I prefer smooth and gentle and get it done. And just for reference, a meltdown can happen to us anytime we get upset with circumstances we can’t fix. (that’s us sometimes isn’t it?)

I was so glad that we gathered together in my living room and prayed: we told the enemy to get out of town, out of the house, and out of the plans for our day. We thanked God for His provision and expectant joy. And then of course the event that they participated in was a real hit and they had a wonderful time.
Then later when I was at work I was reminded by the Lord, “A meltdown is usually a precursor to something wonderful about to happen.”

Oh beloved, what’s giving you a meltdown? A sudden outburst of trouble in the midst of preparation is a signal. It’s a signal that the enemy is trying to burst your bubble and remove your blessing. It’s also a signal to pray, to ask for help and to remain calm. LOL (remain calm? Whew that part is often hard isn’t it?) God has plans for you beyond your present meltdown. This life will always concentrate on the hardship but God is always trying to refocus us to prepare for the blessing! There’s joy ahead if we just look beyond the little foxes that try to spoil the grapes.

God wants you to know that your present troubles are not your life. Maybe your meltdown is more serious than somebody not wanting to wake up. Regardless of how big the situation is you are facing, skirmishes with the enemy aren’t going to turn you away from what’s ahead for you. Meltdowns happen to every family, big or small. But meltdowns are not the course of life for the believer. They are sideroads that we can take as a sign that the Lord is working in big ways for us! You beloved, are His workmanship. Who knew you would be so blessed by the Lord that the enemy would try to send things your way to distract you. But gloriously blessed are you that you can recognize the tactic, take authority over the enemy and walk on into something wonderful!

God loves you and He’s for you. Always. The enemy lies to you when he says the distraction is the important thing. Run to the Lord this morning and thank Him for salvation and more – the ability to have the mind of Christ and to walk in truth even when trouble strikes suddenly. And you get to live in the Light of the Glorious Spirit of the Lord as you pray and remain at rest for His plan!

Isaiah 59:19 So shall they fear The name of the LORD from the west, And His glory from the rising of the sun; When the enemy comes in like a flood, The Spirit of the LORD will lift up a standard against him.

2 Thessalonians 3:3 But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one.

James 4:7 Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

About Rebekah Beene

In a Women’s meeting in 1983, I went up for prayer and to see if God had “anything for me”. The woman of God who was praying for people spoke over my life. She said these words: “You will write books. You can go to the bank on it. Rivers of living water will flow from your belly…”
