When I was at home with my parents, I knew exactly what my dad thought about just about everything. I knew His take on politics, religion, family and more. He didn’t try to hide his opinions from me. It wasn’t as though I ever had to wonder what he thought about anything. And if I forgot one of his tenets, then he quickly reminded me. It was so easy to know what was expected because he (and my mom) had it all laid out for me to understand. That doesn’t mean it was always easy, it just means I knew what the leader of my home expected.
Oh beloved, God is our Abba Father. If you are born again in Christ, then you know who your Father is. And He is such a good, good Father that we can know everything about Him. We don’t have to wonder what He thinks about any subject. He has laid it all out in His Book of Remembrance for us. Not only do we have His Word, we have intimate relationship with Him. It’s easy to know what is expected of us because He has it all laid out for us to understand.
God wants you to know this morning that He understands the chaos of this world. And He understands you are rocking and reeling with the opposition in life. On the one hand you know what God thinks but on the other hand the whole world is having opposing positions on almost everything. You want to live for Jesus and by His Spirit. But you want to have your life neatly laid out without any ripples.
But God says in order to get where He needs you to be, both physically and spiritually, you will have to encounter rough going and harsh situations. Even now you understand what He means by “In this world you will have troubles”. He also laid out the response to the troubles you encounter “Be of good cheer because I have overcome the world!” Glorious life in Christ you have – you get to overcome everything and you get to stay the course of life without compromise! That’s what faith in our Abba Father does for us! You are granted courage and wisdom and power to overcome all the tactics of the enemy and to know His perfect will for you. Amazing life!
God loves you and He’s for you. Stay on the path He has chosen for you. Remain in Him at all times. Get away to have time alone with Him often. Keep reading His Word and seeking His will. And live, precious believer, in the power of Holy Spirit for your every decision in life!
John 16:33 These things I have spoken to you so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world.”
2 Corinthians 2:14 But thanks be to God, who always leads us triumphantly as captives in Christ and through us spreads everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of Him.
Psalm 119:88-89 Revive me according to Your loving devotion, that I may obey the testimony of Your mouth. Your word, O LORD, is everlasting; it is firmly fixed in the heavens.
John 6:63 The Spirit alone gives eternal life. Human effort accomplishes nothing. And the very words I have spoken to you are spirit and life.
