Wow, broken. What a word to ponder.
So many things come to mind. My mother had a quote on her refrigerator that read “Without hope life is a broken winged bird that cannot fly”. My dad always said “If it ain’t broke don’t fix it”. And there seems to be more than a few couples who decided 2020 was the year they became broken up with their spouses.
Broken nearly always has a negative connotation to it. And yet…
Oh beloved, the Lord speaks to my heart this morning and hopefully yours too. Whatever area of your life seems broken, God is your Restorer. He delights in taken the broken things of life and make them new again. He rejoices in taken a broken believer and give them new hope, new life, new outlook and new strength.
As you ponder the broken places in your life always remember that God loves you and He’s for you. In spite of the pain of being broken, you can have joy in the putting back together again God is doing for you right now. He doesn’t use ordinary glue. His reparation is pure gold! That’s because you are pure gold to Him. He won’t leave you nor will He forsake you. Trust Him today to take Broken and make it Beautiful!
Jeremiah 17:14 Heal me, LORD, and I will be healed; save me and I will be saved, for you are the one I praise.
Psalm 51:12 Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.
Psalm 23:3 He restores my soul…
Join me and other writers over at Five Minute Friday as we see how God speaks about BROKEN.
Yes! God restores our broken stories for our good and for His glory!

This thing that I’m about to say
will make some people mad,
but, you know, dude, in a way,
‘broken’ ain’t half-bad
’cause it tells you of the limit
of the things that you can do,
and on looking deeper in it,
you know you only will get through
with the God you met in church
on some Sunday, long ago,
Who won’t leave you in the lurch
if you’ll only come to know
the Son who got nailed to the Cross,
to pay off your sin-bet loss.

Sometimes being broken is right where God wants us. Because then he can be the fixer. Thank you for this reminder!! Deirdre FMF#3
