My dad had been married before he met my mother. He was also an alcoholic. But in 1949 he found sobriety through AA. And then one evening in 1954 he walked into the drug store of a hotel in Corpus Christi. My mom was working there. The rest is history.
Oh beloved, God is speaking to our hearts this morning. We can’t know what God is doing ahead of time. But we know He will working all things out for our good and He will make things happen at just the right time. My dad didn’t walk into that hotel looking for a wife. My mom wasn’t looking for a husband. But there you go. Not fate, not chance, not kismet, not the stars lining up. Just God doing what only God can do.
God wants you to know this morning He sees you walking in disappointment. You don’t see how anything could turn out right. You know you were sure about some things that you can no longer be sure about. You’re even wondering if God will come through for you. You want things lined up securely and you’d like to prepare your life. Preparation and planning is good. But you are in a situation right now where you will have to rely on God to walk you into your future.
He says now is your time to walk into His destiny for you. Your eyes have not see nor have your ears heard what God has prepared for you. You are just walking in faith. Getting up in the morning, putting one foot in front of the other. Unsure of your future, but you can be assured of God’s plans being good. A future and a hope He says He is giving you. What the locust has destroyed He will restore. What was meant for evil God will turn for good. You’re the head and not the tail. You may not be able to make many plans, but you can plan on God coming through for you in bigger ways than you can imagine.
God loves you and He’s for you. Even in frightful times. Even when things don’t work out. Even in the midst of pain, loss and agony. Run to your Father, the King, and give Him all your dreams, hopes and wishes. And live, precious believer, in the light of God’s best plans ahead for you!
