One of my favorite games to play is hidden object game quests. I love the puzzles and story adventures within them. I don’t play them often because they take a lot of time and I like to play until the hero is found or the object is captured. One thing that can be frustrating is when there’s a glitch in the game. You see the next move or the icon you should click but nothing happens. It’s frustrating to say the least. I abandon that game and delete it from our tablet at home. I’m done with it.
This morning God speaks to my heart. Life is not a game but it sure has lots of twists and turns. And occasionally your life will have glitches. You know, things that don’t line up with God’s Word but you can’t do a thing about it. You can’t rewrite life and you can’t change things in the middle of the adventure. When this happens you just want to abandon things altogether as you’re done with it.
Oh beloved, your life is not just a game. And you aren’t just a participant in a glitch. And God’s Word remains the same even if. But God is merciful. He doesn’t allow the series of events in His loved ones lives to remain unfixable or out of order. He sees you. He knows you’re ready to give up completely. He says to hold on, help is coming. Hang in there, what you see now is not the end game of your life. Momentary light afflictions sounds too simple for your situation, but compared to the glory of the Lord you will receive, it’s really a glitch that you can move on beyond. Better is coming. Higher is waiting. And what you are learning through it all is that you can trust God, remain faithful to His Word, refuse to become bitter and cynical. And keep moving forward!
God loves you and He’s for you. His life story for you will continue to amaze and bless you. Run to Him this morning and thank Him that in the fullness of time you will see how He weaved your story through adventures disguised as heartaches. And you can live in the Light of His Truth with joy and blessings even now!
