BEFORE – Five Minute Friday Prompt

iStock_BeforeThis week’s prompt is BEFORE.

BEFORE –

Before Corona virus is the first thing I here.

Before the corona virus there was God.

Before the stock market fall, the lost job, the rebellious child

Before your worst nightmare there was God.

Before you wake up God is there.

Before you find your first moment of sleep God is there.

Oh beloved, whatever that is that you are dealing with – God is there!

And because He is there, He is here! And He is with you. And because He is with you there is nothing that you have to fear. BEFORE you go wild in your heart and lose it, stop drop and roll. Stop rehearsing the troubles, drop to your knees and roll all your cares on Him.

God loves you and He’s for you. He knows you and He blesses you in the midst of whatever life throws at you. Trust Him and speak the truth over yourself, your household, your finances, your home and all!

Isaiah 41:10 So do not fear, for I am with you;
    do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
    I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Deuteronomy 1:30 The Lord your God who goes before you
will Himself fight on your behalf,
just as He did for you in Egypt before your eyes

About Rebekah Beene

In a Women’s meeting in 1983, I went up for prayer and to see if God had “anything for me”. The woman of God who was praying for people spoke over my life. She said these words: “You will write books. You can go to the bank on it. Rivers of living water will flow from your belly…”

    When we keep it in perspective, like you have here, we really need not fear. So..when I fear (and I too often do), I think I need a shift in my perspective:) Thanks for the reminder!

  2. The only way that I can hope
    to deal with my bloody cancer-curse
    is knowing I don’t need to cope
    ’cause Jesus went there first.
    He took on all the myriad ills
    and all of the depravity
    for only through His Godly skills
    could He save humanity,
    and, indeed, it cost Him dear
    in the sorrow, in the pain,
    but His actions made it clear
    that only thus might we remain
    in grace, as was so long foretold
    to walk with Him on streets of gold.
