A couple of days ago I had an interesting dream. I was riding around on a dirt road looking at houses. I had just gone by a piece of land that had a nice pond and went up a hill. All of a sudden I was on a bicycle and I was pumping three adults on there with me. And a semi was coming down the road towards us. I could not get the bicycle to move and the semi kept coming. I just needed to move a little to get to a wider spot where the truck would speed on past. Finally we were head to head with the semi and it got stopped just in time. I could not get the pedals on the bicycle to move because of the load. The dream was over.
Oh beloved, are you pedaling under your own steam? Are you trying to carry the weight of others? Do you feel stuck in the middle of the road? Listen, the Lord speaks to our hearts. We will never do life well if we do it by our own strength. That’s not how the Lord built Christians to live. You’ve been born again to live for Jesus and allow Him to make your decisions and lead and guide you. Even the weight of others, even those you love, is too much to carry in your own strength. You may even be carrying fear, worry and pain – not your load to carry.
Whatever you have that is too heavy and is holding you down and holding you back, it’s time to lighten the load. Even if everyone else is doing it their way, you are never going to feel the freedom you so desire if you follow them. When you are loosed from the weights you carry you will be free to move faster, stronger and farther. This is your destiny to live the light life of faith!
God loves you and He’s for you. Release things and run to Him. Give them all to Him if you need to. Thank Him that He’s better equipped to deal with it than you. Praise Him that just as He loves and cares for you He will do the same for those you love. He will prosper your life, your family and your ministry in His way and His time. And live, precious believer, in the Light of this wonderful freedom of Christ!
