It’s funny how you can see your own traits in your grown children. One of our daughters took her kids at Petit Jean. They went all the way to the bottom of the falls and back up. She laughed as she shared the fearlessness of her daughter. She also laughed at how her feelings are much different watching her own kiddos doing “fearless” things. My hubby is the fearless one. I would have never taken my kids somewhere like that by myself!
Oh beloved. Maybe you’ve gotten into a rut. Maybe you’ve not felt fearless in a long time. You stand on a cliff and want to faint. You climb down a mountain path and hope you don’t twist an ankle. Maybe it’s not a physical thing. Maybe you e just played life too safely for too long.
God wants you to know that life can be scary. It’s going to have some fearful twists and turns. But you never have to be afraid. You were born again and you have the ability to build your Father God’s traits into your own life! He never worries, He has no fear, He doesn’t shrink back, He can’t and won’t run from any situation. He has called you and He will go with you. He has summoned you and He will keep you safer than safe. We’re not talking about reckless living for God says let no one say they are tempted by God. But you never have to let fear run your life. Ever.
God loves you and He’s for you. Stop worrying and view the vista. Stop calculating the worst and start expecting the best. Run to Him this morning and give Him permission to take you on this great adventure called life. And live with loving abandon for the One who knows you best and keeps you safe with Him forever.
Psalm 18:33 He makes me as surefooted as a deer, enabling me to stand on mountain heights.
2 Timothy 1:7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.
Hebrews 10:35 Therefore do not throw away your confidence, which has great reward.
