I dreamed last night that my mother and I were invaded by a bear. I had a small piece of food in my hand and we decided to coax the bear away by throwing the morsel off the deck we were standing on. Of course we weren’t safe because there were plenty of other ways the bear could come back after us. So we began earnestly trying to find an escape and a secure location. Because we had fed it it was coming back for more.
Oh beloved, God says Don’t Feed The Bears. What kind of bears are you dealing with? Here’s what they look like – fear, worry, anger. Anxiety, disappointment, unforgiveness. There are more. The Lord May be calling them out to you as you read. If you feed them they will return for more and they will grow. It’s not a bit safe to even give a morsel to any of it. We like to think we have rights to feed the bears in our lives. But just as Jesus laid down His rights for us, we now lay down our rights for Him. You aren’t the sum of your old self that was full of rights and feeding a world full of bears. You are a believer now and as such you have been set free! Your life’s plan is to never have to feed the bears again! Isn’t that glorious?
God loves you and He’s for you. It might now be easy but you don’t have to live it out alone. Run to Jesus and ask Him to help you. Soak up the Scriptures and quote the Word to the bears when they come out of hiding. And live beloved, in the night of His glory and grace!
