The owner of our wonderful local motor coach tour company came into my office yesterday. It was good to visit with her. I asked about their Christmas tours.
She told me all of them. But then she said I really needed to go to Blanchard Caverns. During the holidays they have a very special event- Caroling in the Caverns. wonderful holiday music, created She looked heavenward as she described the acoustic voices of area musicians’ and their stringed instruments filling the air of the great Cathedral Room. Wow, I think that would be awesome!
Oh beloved, this morning God speaks to my heart and yours. Can we carol while we’re in the cave? When life gets tough and we feel so buried beneath the surface dare we sing out to the Lord? Can our praises fill the air when we just want to sit and cry?
Yes you can my beloved friend. There is more worship available in the hard times than any other season. And even if the holidays are not everything you want them to be, you can still sing your heart out in praise and worship to the One who loves you and keeps your heart beating daily. Your situation is temporary but your position is eternal. Everything you do in the cave is preparing you for life renewed out in the open!
God loves you and He’s for you. He’s not caught by surprise by your life’s ups and downs. He’s with you He’s for you and He’s in you! Run to Him this morning and sing His praises! And live in His light no matter where you are!
Psalm 57:7-8 My heart, O God, is steadfast, my heart is steadfast; I will sing and make music. Awake, my soul! Awake, harp and lyre! I will awaken the dawn.
Acts 16: 25-26 About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them. Suddenly there was such a violent earthquake that the foundations of the prison were shaken. At once all the prison doors flew open, and everyone’s chains came loose!
Psalm 69:30 I will praise the name of God with song And magnify Him with thanksgiving
