You Are Known

My hubby keeps getting asked for his autograph. Most recently it was at the Rangers Ballpark in Arlington TX. I couldn’t find him as he had lagged behind. But up he came grinning ear to ear to tell me all about it. One would think he was more famous for who he isn’t than who he is!

Oh beloved, God speaks to my heart. True fame is the fame of faith. Worldly fame won’t count one single digit in heaven. But heavenly fame counts on earth and in heaven!

God wants you to know this morning that He knows the real you and He loves that person. He is not impressed with the things that the world insists is important. Your hard work and perseverance are all part of life. But it’s not part of who you are. The inner person of the heart is who God rewards. He knew you before you knew Him. He recognized the born-again version of you. He has given you all the abilities you have.

The enemy wants you to concentrate on the ways you feel you are lacking. But the Lord says your weakness is made perfect in His Strength. The enemy wants you to pursue hard work and believe that God helps those who help themselves. But God reminds you that it is by grace you were saved and not of works. There are blessings untold for the one who relies on the strength of heaven rather than the abilities of earth. There are anointings for the Kingdom for the one who relies on God’s Word as their guide for living rather than the world’s temporary successes. Even the riches you enjoy are all a gift from Abba Father. The enemy wants your nose to the grindstone while the Lord says to live life with joy, peace and rest even when you are working hard and making a living. Don’t ever forget in the pursuit of the living that the Lord has given you the opportunity to make a life in Christ.

God loves you and He’s for you. Rest in His presence this morning. Allow yourself to think about Him first. Thank Jesus for His unspeakable gift – the one that removes you from trying to make it in this world. Thank Him too for giving you the gift of life in Him, so that you now as you work and live and play you can trust Him to make a way. Release your frustrations and your concerns. Take up the Word and live by that bread from heaven. And walk in the Light of God’s wonderful plan for you!

2 Corinthians 1:21 But it is God Who confirms and makes us steadfast and establishes us [in joint fellowship] with you in Christ, and has consecrated and anointed us [enduing us with the gifts of the Holy Spirit].

2 Corinthians 3:5 Not that we are adequate in ourselves to consider anything as coming from ourselves, but our adequacy is from God

Proverbs 10:22 It is the blessing of the LORD that makes rich, And He adds no sorrow to it.

Hebrews 6:18 So God has given both His promise and His oath. These two things are unchangeable because it is impossible for God to lie. Therefore, we who have fled to Him for refuge can have great confidence as we hold to the hope that lies before us.

About Rebekah Beene

In a Women’s meeting in 1983, I went up for prayer and to see if God had “anything for me”. The woman of God who was praying for people spoke over my life. She said these words: “You will write books. You can go to the bank on it. Rivers of living water will flow from your belly…”
