Trust in the Journey – May 26th

We went to put flags on my dad’s grave before Memorial Day. There is a gravel road that continues beyond the cemetery that we’ve never driven. Yesterday Danny decided to try it.

The first encounter was a low water bridge. I wasn’t sure I wanted to go any further. There were no signs on any of the roads we came to but we still had to make a choice of going left or right. Danny chose right and we finally came back out on the main highway. I was relieved.

Oh beloved, there are going to be times God is going to ask you to trust Him in the journey you are on. Undeveloped areas of your life need to be explored. He wants to build your faith. He wants to teach you to trust, He wants to give you more than you have now. He wants to increase your territory. You’ll have to go where you’ve never been before. He may allow you to make a decision along the way – which way do you want to go? He’s teaching you to listen for His still small voice and go there.

God wants you to know that you can rest assured He isn’t here with you just to give you covering for your own doing. People aren’t out to follow God, so you will be going against the flow. Even your own family might not understand what you are doing. But you aren’t living for them, you aren’t living for the world, you are living for Jesus, who alone is the Author and Finisher of your faith.

God loves you and He’s for you. That should be enough for you to trust Him. That alone can give your worried heart and rest. You are destined to live an outrageously faithful life when you put it all in His hands and live in the Light of His Glory, Power, Grace and Direction!

John 10:4 “When He has brought out all His own, He goes before them, and the sheep follow Him, for they know His voice.”

Matthew 16:24 “Then Jesus told his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.”

Deuteronomy 31:8 The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.

About Rebekah Beene

In a Women’s meeting in 1983, I went up for prayer and to see if God had “anything for me”. The woman of God who was praying for people spoke over my life. She said these words: “You will write books. You can go to the bank on it. Rivers of living water will flow from your belly…”
