Memorial Day. Today we honor those who fought and lost their lives for our freedom. My father lived, but he did fight in two world wars, receiving the purple heart and other medal of honor for his courageous activities during those wars. I lost a cousin in the Baltic Sea as his plane went down fighting in Germany.
When we think of freedom, we usually just think about how we are free to do as we please, especially on holidays. But real freedom is so much more than our own desires and wishes being granted.
Oh beloved, isn’t it a blessing to live in The Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave? But oh beloved, isn’t it more amazing to be a child of the King? Angelic conflicts abound all around you, but you have been given the freedom in Christ to live through it all. Heartbreaks have happened in your life but you aren’t going to let their sorrow cause you to lose hope. What is within you is greater than what is in the world. So that even when you are having conflicts of any kind, you can let God fight your battles. And you can know through your God, the Only Living God, you will do valiantly for it is He who treads down your enemies! It is God who brings children back to Himself. It is God who rewards you openly for your inward faith. It is God who is your Peace in the turmoil. Through Christ you are always going to win!
God loves you and He’s for you. You can never let down your guard against the enemy but you can always live in the Shelter of the Most High. The war waged against you is real but not truly powerful. Run to the Father and thank Him, turn to Jesus and bless Him and ask for fresh fire of Holy Spirit to grant you all you need to remain steadfast until Jesus returns. And live beloved soldier, in the Light of His Wonder Working Power!

2 Corinthians 10:4 The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.
