We had neighbors come by the house taking an evening walk yesterday. He stepped in and helped Danny position one of the posts. He enjoyed helping since he’s been housebound for a few months. And I enjoyed the reprieve and short visit with his wife. The wall is starting to look like a wall again. We are beginning to see the fruit of our labors. The next few nights will be spent finishing up after work. It’s nice to know we aren’t too old to work on another project together. Although we both agree we’d never want to build railroad tie walls for a living. It is a labor of love borne out of necessity.
Oh beloved, as you wake up to the day’s plans, know that you aren’t working alone. God is with you. He will send you help and He will give you strength to finish the task. For some that task may just be to get through the day. Even if you are mourning or discouraged or full of disappointment, God wants to infuse you with joy, encouragement and a sense of fulfillment. Maybe you can’t possibly build a wall anymore. But you can build prayer bridges, scale spiritual mountains and walk strongly with the Spirit of the Only Living God within you. If you are alive today, and you are, it’s because there is more purpose for you. You were born again to be an emissary of hope to everyone you see. You are an ambassador of agape love. You are uniquely gifted with everything you need for life and godliness. Everything He brings to your mind will be something He will strengthen you for. Whether you re 20 or 80, God has work for you to do that He will enable you to accomplish. He is the Great I AM!
God loves you and He’s for you. It’s time to sing out loud “The Lord is My Shepherd!” It’s time to declare over yourself “I shall not want!” It’s time to rest for He causes you to lie down in green pastures and He restores your soul daily. Even when you think you have nothing left to give, He gives you fresh fire. Even if you’re worn out and done in, He gives strength beyond the flesh. Run to Him this morning and thank Him for all He has done, is doing and will do. And live, rejoice and be faithful in the light of His glory and grace!
