On the list of our remodel is a new deck. The old one still looks fine but it’s a bit shaky. It’s not a place you’d want to put a group of people. It’s not even a place I enjoy walking and sitting on. You could say it’s shaky ground.
Oh beloved, you’ve discovered most of life is pretty shaky ground, as though it’s all built on sinking sand. The stability of your youth is no longer present. You want to venture out but rough times have caused you to limit yourself. You know God has called you to freedom, yet that freedom is hard to accomplish with fear keeping you inside your comfort zone. While children have parents to call on for safety, you aren’t sure you have anyone to help you, guide you or keep you safe when you encounter less than stable situations.
But God wants you to know this morning that He is your Only True Stability. He will go with you, but He also goes before you – so you can follow Him without concern for your own safety. There are blessings just beyond the shaky territory you are encountering. Your anointing is not built on your education nor your ability to make good earthly decisions. It’s built entirely on Christ. That’s why, as you hear God calling you to step forward and step out, you must just respond without concern. This is the season of great outpouring of Holy Spirit. This is the season of renewed vigor in faith. And the Everlasting Arms are underneath you to bless your every response to say yes to the Lord.
God also wants you to know that shaky times are everywhere. You can’t block it out, you can’t avoid it, you can’t remove it. You just have to live your life with the firm attitude of faith wherever you go. He calls you intrepid explorer before you’ve made a move. He considers you victorious before you’ve crossed the finish line. He who saved you isn’t about to let you fall now, so go for the prize and don’t look down! You’re valiantly increasing in faith and spiritual virtue as you answer His call!
God loves you and He’s for you. Run to Him this morning and thank Him for the gift of faith. And walk without fear in the Light of His plan for your life!

I Samuel 15:22 But Samuel replied, What is more pleasing to the LORD: your burnt offerings and sacrifices or your obedience to his voice? Listen! Obedience is better than sacrifice, and submission is better than offering the fat of rams.
