PAUSE…
As I read the definition of pause – early 15c., from Old French pausee “a pause, interruption” (14c.) and directly from Latin pausa “a halt, stop, cessation,” from Greek pausis “stopping, ceasing,” from pauein “to stop, to cause to cease –
I hear the Father say I AM the One who gives you rest, and adds no sorrow or torment, worry or woe with that. It is a pause. Stop, halt, cease striving for success, worthiness, accolades or because you tend to be obsessive and compulsive in your behavior.
I call all My children to pause. With Me, For Me, and Because of Me. You aren’t destined to run the rat race nor are you to be concerned with outcomes. I AM that I AM and I will feed you, carry you, bless you and rest you.
Oh beloved, think about it. Even the sheep are promised rest in green pastures when normally they would eat that pasture to a nub without moving. What a gift you and I are given today and every day. We are going to make it without being worn out because He is our Shepherd and when He pauses we will pause with Him. Rest in the power of Christ’s resurrection and rest in the love of Christ poured out for you always.
Psalm 23:1-2 The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures…
Psalm 127:2 It is useless for you to work so hard from early morning until late at night, anxiously working for food to eat; for God gives rest to his loved ones.
Psalm 78:52 But He led forth His own people like sheep And guided them in the wilderness like a flock
Psalm 78:52 – what a precious verse! thanks for sharing that one…and for your sweet thoughts on the prompt this week! Hope you are enjoying some special moments of pause this long weekend!
