It’s Not Too Late

9214-e28093-still-bear-fruit-in-old-ageI remember this morning a conversation I had with our oldest granddaughter when she was in the second grade.  I was very fortunate to get to drive her to school every morning for several years. We had glorious times in the van together.  This particular day she said, “Wow, you’re old. You’re not old old. But you’re old”.  I responded that thankfully I wasn’t old old!

The truth is I’m a lot older than I once was.  I’m the product of life on earth.  We get older the longer we live here.  We can escape a lot of things with healthy measures, but no one escapes the inevitable advance of age.  I’m not fond of it, but it is what it is.

Oh beloved, this morning God speaks to your heart and mine.   We are never too old to set new goals or dream new dreams.  The most deadly happening in life is to quit having goals and quit dreaming.  You, beloved, are still very much a part of God’s plan for yourself and this earth.  As a believer, you aren’t just occupying until death. You are an ambassador of faith in your region and your world.  You are making a difference even by your presence. But God wants to infuse you with fresh fire.  He wants to give you more power to live without walls in these last days.  Heaven is a wonderful reward and believers receive this at just the right time. But you are more than just a heaven bound resident of earth. You are actually an earth bound resident of heaven!  You’ve been translated already to the Kingdom of righteousness and found there is peace, joy, favor, fervor, ardent worship and dreams and goals.

God says ask Him. Ask Him for something beyond your human ability. Ask Him for the heart of an intercessor, the gift of discernment, the blessing of speaking truth and love into the hearts of those you are in contact with.  It’s not too late.  You’re not too old. He’s not given up on you.  You aren’t the sum of your lost dreams or your unfulfilled goals.  Bucket lists aside- God still has plans for you!

God loves you and He’s for you.  He will give you new enthusiasm if you ask Him – for it is found in His presence! Go to Him this morning and give Him all of yourself in a new way for this new day.  And live, regardless of age or ability, in the Light of His wonderful, supernatural, inspiring plans for your life!

Isaiah 46:4 Even to your old age I will be the same, And even to your graying years I will bear you! I have done it, and I will carry you; And I will bear you and I will deliver you.

Psalm 71:18 And even when I am old and gray, O God, do not forsake me, Until I declare Your strength to this generation, Your power to all who are to come.

Psalm 92:14 They will still yield fruit in old age; They shall be full of sap and very green.

Philippians 1:6 For I am confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will continue to perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.

About rebekahbeene

In a Women’s meeting in 1983, I went up for prayer and to see if God had “anything for me”. The woman of God who was praying for people spoke over my life. She said these words: “You will write books. You can go to the bank on it. Rivers of living water will flow from your belly…”

‘A new enthusiasm.’ I love that, Rebekah! God has something fresh and vibrant for us to be and to do. Age is no factor, is it!

Love meeting you this morning as I wander around Holley’s …

    Bless you.

  2. It is good to keep a forever young mentality, one of my cousin’s children recently commented, ” Wow! You were alive in the 1900’s. ” to his mother.
