Last night we had steak at a local restaurant. We got home and I put on my pjs and we got comfortable and ready to enjoy each other and a good movie when the phone rang. A minor emergency with a grandchild and I got dressed and we went to the local emergency room. Turned out everything was fine. So we headed back home. I looked at the almost finished Easter dress I was sewing and then a light dawned. “Tomorrow’s Saturday!” Danny replied yes, it is! Yay for Saturday. How wonderful to wake up to a day of finishing up chores, doing the fun stuff and just being at home.
The men and women who followed Jesus woke up to a horrible reminder Saturday morning. They woke up without their leader. They were in a tough spot. Keep going forward for a dead man or fall back to the way life was before He had arrived on the scene. Fear, wonder, maybe even terror struck their hearts. What happened to Him could happen to them. Where was Jesus? And where were they now?
Have you wondered where Jesus is? Do you wonder if He even cares what you are going through? Does He see your problems? Does He hear your prayers? When you and I are in the tough places, the between times, can we still have assurance that we are not alone and He has not abandoned us? When you’re in the hospital room and the diagnosis is not good but the outcome is even more uncertain, when the kids aren’t home on time and you run the scenarios of what could happen, when there’s more month than money, when your spouse is done, when the job plays out, when you are rejected, rebuffed, refused by those you thought would stick with you?
Oh beloved, God is with you! He won’t fail you now. Just because it looks bad, doesn’t mean He’s left the scene. Just because you’re fearful doesn’t mean He won’t rescue you. Just because the enemy puts thoughts in your mind that are contrary to the Word, you don’t have to receive them and play them in your mind. If you’re having a between the grave and the resurrection day, it’s time to stand up and testify. It’s time to get up and deliver a fatal blow to the ego of the enemy. It’s time to praise the Lord. It’s time to shout Hosannah’s and Hallelujah’s. Because you are IN Christ and He is in you, He can’t leave and won’t leave!
God loves you and He’s for you. Whatever it looks like, there is a supernatural happening going on that you are going to participate in. Rejoice that you have a Savior who will never leave or forsake you. He makes all things good and you can walk in confidence, even in the hard places, and feel the joy and peace, in the Light of His Glory and Grace!
Zephaniah 3:17 The LORD your God is in your midst, A victorious warrior. He will exult over you with joy, He will be quiet in His love, He will rejoice over you with shouts of joy.
Matthew 28:20 Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.
John 14:16 And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Advocate to be with you forever—
Romans 8:28 And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.
