I love shows about favorite destinations. Especially when buying a place. So much fun to watch husband and wife work together to visit and/or purchase their best view and most fun ever. Along with that I see the lists on social media about answering questions regarding favorites of this and that sort.
Yesterday at lunch I read one line of such a list. It said “Favorite destination…” Immediately I thought of the altar. For two reasons. The altar of my wedding vows with my precious husband as we took hands and recited our promises to one another. The other was the altar of my life when I gave my heart to Jesus.
Oh beloved, the Lord’s vows mean the world to your life. Marriage is wonderful, relationships can be divine. But your walk with the Lord makes all the difference. His vows go unbroken regardless of whatever else happens. He isn’t waiting for an excuse to leave you, condemn you, work you harder or make you pay. His love is not based on your merit. Beloved, He says “you are enough”. As you abide in Him you become so accustomed to His outrageous love that when someone else hurts you or walks away, you remain confident in His love. A woman who fears the Lord, who is reverent towards Him and lives in humility with Him – now she is to be praised!
And what does the Lord say about you? Because whatever He says about you in His Word He wants to say to you. Imagine the groom just talking to the pastor and saying “she’s great. She will make a good wife. She is beautiful.” But never talking to his bride. Oh no, precious one, He talks to His beloved, and God’s banner over you is love – to parade you before a watching world as chosen, beloved, redeemed, and oh so much more! He speaks love words and songs to you when He calls you to rest, to repent, or to reenergize.
God loves you and He’s for you – because He is LOVE. His nature and essence are pure love. Lean into His love this morning and let Him speak precious words to you. And watch as you grow stronger, feel more beautiful and accept His invitation to live only for Him as you dance in the Light of His Glory and Grace!
