What Are You Drinking?

I love bottled water. We do have our favorite brand and it comes from a spring, instead of being purified it’s simply filtered. But every time I pick up a case of this bottled luxury I think what my father would say. “You buy water in a bottle?!?!?!” His practicality would say just fill up a jug at the sink. While we purchase good water at a fairly reasonable price, I looked up the most expensive waters in the world. To my surprise expensive isn’t a big enough word. The most expensive water comes in a 24 karat solid gold container. It sells for $60,000 a bottle! To be fair the bottles all come with a leather case and the water also contains 5 milligrams of gold dust. At $402 per bottle, Kona Nigari is sold in Japan. It is reported to help you lose weight, reduce stress and improve skin tone and quality. In reality it’s taken from seawater far below the surface that has been desalinated.

Why did God bring this up to me this morning? Because He wants us to know that the world is so turned upside down. There are people that will drink a 60K bottle of water and there are people who are dying for lack of any kind of water – all on the same globe.

Oh beloved, whether you purchase your water in bottles or you pour it out of the tap, you are one blessed person. No matter what you drink, your thirst will return again and again. Thirst is something that never goes away. But God wants you to know this morning that He has something more magnificent than earthly bottled water and you’ll never thirst again! And it’s free! Listen to Him this morning. Nothing you or I purchase can ever quench our thirst permanently. But Jesus told the woman at the well “But those who drink the water I give will never be thirsty again. It becomes a fresh, bubbling spring within them, giving them eternal life.”

You, precious one, if you are born again, have access within to this living water. When you are parched in the deserts of life, drink of Jesus. When you feel you can’t go on remind yourself of who lives within you. When life is oh so dry, imbibe of the Spirit and find this bubbling spring’s source and supply. Never ending, always pure, no need for a filter or a fancy bottle. You are enough for the Lord to reside within you and He delights to fill you with this heavenly concoction. You don’t have to wait until you are good enough, popular, thin, rich, or famous enough to partake. This is your glorious destiny! To be filled with the richest flow of water ever given and to pour it out from its life giving flow!

God loves you and He’s for you. Run to Him this morning and ask Him for a fresh drink of the new wine! Ask Him to show you what it really means to never thirst again. And rejoice as you receive so much more than you could ever imagine and live in the Light of the Fountain of Life!

Isaiah 55:1 “Ho! Everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; And you who have no money come, buy and eat. Come, buy wine and milk Without money and without cost.

Jeremiah 2:13 “For My people have committed two evils: They have forsaken Me, The fountain of living waters, To hew for themselves cisterns, Broken cisterns That can hold no water.

Jeremiah 31:25 “For I satisfy the weary ones and refresh everyone who languishes.”

Matthew 5:6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.

About rebekahbeene

In a Women’s meeting in 1983, I went up for prayer and to see if God had “anything for me”. The woman of God who was praying for people spoke over my life. She said these words: “You will write books. You can go to the bank on it. Rivers of living water will flow from your belly…”
