Our area is full of flood waters right now. The skies have remained sullen and gray. We are all pretty tired of it by now.
My life has gone through some incredible flood waters too. But even though the skies around me seem sullen and gray I can say there is much BEAUTY in spite of that. How do I know this? How can it be? When we feel the pain and we know we’re about to be washed away in the torrents – the torrents of why me, who cares, my fault, nothing will ever change and more. You know what your flood waters look like. I know mine.
Oh beloved, the best word ever heard was straight from the heart of God – It’s right here in Isaiah 63:3 ” To grant [consolation and joy] to those who mourn in Zion—to give them an ornament (a garland or diadem) of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, the garment [expressive] of praise instead of a heavy, burdened, and failing spirit—that they may be called oaks of righteousness [lofty, strong, and magnificent, distinguished for uprightness, justice, and right standing with God], the planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.”
Praying today that you will know true beauty from the inside out. That you will know you are beautiful to the Lord and that He has promised beauty for you. And that you will know how to praise Him in the storm and rejoice wherever you are. Simply because you live in the Light of His Truth no matter what.
Psalm 30:11 – 12 You have turned my mourning into joyful dancing. You have taken away my clothes of mourning and clothed me with joy that I might sing praises to You and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give You thanks forever!
