A pastor and his wife from a nearby town have had their baby. She was born just days before Christmas. He is besotted with this little bundle from heaven. He apologizes for all the photos and yet posts more. He cannot believe what a wonderful gift she is and how his heart has fallen so in love with her. He even shared that they have no Tree, no Lights, and no Presents but that this year’s Christmas will be the greatest one they’ve ever experienced! Because God has shown him how to Love in a way he never thought possible!
Oh beloved, you can say Merry Christmas. it’s not what’s under the tree, nor is it the preparation and perfection of the day. It’s because God sent Jesus to give us a love that we never thought was possible. God loves you. He knows your situation, He understands the strain you’re under. He even knows your past mistakes, your intimate regrets and your future fears. He has come to remind you that He has taken care of it all. He wants you to know that you didn’t deserve the heartache you are facing, but He will face it with you. Never again do you have to be alone.
God also wants you to know that because of Jesus you can live in forgiveness. You can forgive everyone everything. You can loose yourself from animosity. You can unchain yourself from anger. You can remove your heart from the torture of everything you’ve ever gone through ever. You were never meant to carry your own guilt, carry the antagonism of another’s wrong towards you or live with the idea that you need to pay back anyone for anything. You are free in Christ!
God loves you and He’s for you! All debts are paid, all forgiveness is given, all wounds can be healed and you can truly say Merry Christmas! Why? Because you are centered on the manger and you are leaving everything else behind and renewing your love for the Savior. He has indeed given you (and me and the entire world) the best Gift ever and that’s the joy of living in the Light of His everlasting love, mercy and grace!
