Adventure?

When I was a girl there were really three tables set for Thanksgiving. There was the kids’ table, there was the big table and there was the living room. Yep the living room. That’s where the men either began their meal or finished it up, depending on when the ballgame started. Nobody missed the Thanksgiving football game at my house. You had to be positioned right to experience the game. And you had to be a grown man. Otherwise nobody went there. It was an experience left to the elite troop of my dad, uncles and male cousins over a certain age.

God speaks to my heart this morning. No matter where you sit at My table, you are welcome to enter in and experience everything of Me. I invite you daily and as you give thanks and praise to me, you experience more and more depth of it all. In the world there is a segregation of people, places and things. But in My Kingdom all are welcome and none are turned away.

Oh beloved, tomorrow is a big day in America. And if you’re like me you are going to celebrate it differently than you ever have. I wanted to groan and moan about it. I am a big fan of tradition. But I am also a big fan of adventure. And my hubby says we are going on an adventure.

In order to go on an adventure you and I will have to let go of tradition and launch out into unknown territory. Fortunately for all believers, God is going to be with us. Whether we have the same old traditional get-togethers or we have a new experience, He will be with us. And we will be welcome in His Presence wherever we go.

You are so very precious to the Lord that He will either bless you with a table full of tradition or He will bless you with a new adventure. Seek His face and heart on the matter. Trust Him to do the best for you. Instead of focusing on what’s not, try focusing on what is. And remember that regardless of how this season looks, it’s just a season. He will cause you to triumph whatever table you are seated at. And He will bring you through even the hardest moments as you keep your heart softened and resist the urge to complain.

God loves you and He’s for you. He is blessing you in heavenly places. He is rewarding your faith in His plan with more faith. Give thanks for the Father heart of God, the Savior who is interceding for you right now and always, and the Spirit who lives within you. You’re not left out, turned away or forgotten. You are royalty wherever you go. And though your destiny is yet to be fulfilled you can walk in His truth and live it out well in the Light of His Glory and Grace.

Matthew 28:20 …And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.

Matthew 18:20 And where two or three are gathered in My Name there I am with them.

Psalm 46:7 The LORD of Heaven’s Armies is here among us; the God of Israel is our fortress.

About Rebekah Beene

In a Women’s meeting in 1983, I went up for prayer and to see if God had “anything for me”. The woman of God who was praying for people spoke over my life. She said these words: “You will write books. You can go to the bank on it. Rivers of living water will flow from your belly…”
