Just Hop In and Go

We haven’t taken a backroads trip in a while. So yesterday we took off. Danny chose a road that had a sign reading “state maintenance ends in 12 miles”. I wasn’t so sure about that road. But we went the 12 miles and found ourselves facing a dirt road. My caution took over. I didn’t think we should do it. After all we didn’t know where that road was going.

Except Danny was sure where that road was heading. He said where we’d come out. I said no way. I doubted it. But guess what? We came out right where he said we were going. LOL I should have known. Now there were low water bridges, high cliffs and more along this road. I wasn’t sure about it until we arrived at a beautiful recreation area. But I went along and the outcome was glorious.

Oh beloved, it’s not always easy to just follow God is it? We want to know the destination. We want to know what He’s doing and where He’s leading us. But this life of faith requires us to just follow. Sure enough we may go through some narrow places, we may cross some rickety spots but God is with us and that’s all we really need to know.

The Lord wants to tell you today that He has wonderful plans for a trip of the lifetime. He’s asking you to hop in and ride alone with Him. The treasure at the end of the road is always worth it. And the faith you gain as you trust Him is worth it as well. Your destiny does not lie in holding back and staying in the safe places. There is no safer place to be than right in the will of God. The worst outcome would be to end your life in safety without having ventured into the unknown with the Lord. The best outcome is to step out in faith when He says let’s go. You’re story is full of mystery but God already knows your entire history so hop in and let Him lead!

God loves you and He’s for you. His love is trustworthy. His care is magnificent. You will always be glad you let Him be in the lead as the head of your life. And rejoice beloved, that your story ends with a glorious outcome as you walk in faith through your entire life!

2 Corinthians 5:7 For we walk by faith not by sight

Hebrews 11:27 It was by faith that Moses left the land of Egypt, not fearing the king’s anger. He kept right on going because he kept his eyes on the One who is invisible.

Isaiah 26:3 You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in You, all whose thoughts are fixed on You!

About Rebekah Beene

In a Women’s meeting in 1983, I went up for prayer and to see if God had “anything for me”. The woman of God who was praying for people spoke over my life. She said these words: “You will write books. You can go to the bank on it. Rivers of living water will flow from your belly…”
