Held Securely Through It All

God loves and speaks in mysterious ways. One way I’ve seen Him speak is through pictures that come to my mind. One picture from a couple of years ago has been back on my mind lately.

It is a picture of a little barefoot girl walking on a dirt path. She has on a cotton dress with a large sash on the back of her dress. I see her from behind. She has a doll by the arm and is letting that doll drag along behind her through the dirt.

Lest you think I am some sort of stately saint who never has a moment or a fear or a tear I will tell you I often feel like that doll. Drug along Only at times I am drug kicking and screaming along the way. But just as God spoke to me before He speaks again ” I will never leave you or forsake you. It might get rough but I will not let go of you ever.”

Oh beloved. As you go through this season know that regardless of how you FEEL God is with you. He’s not letting you go and He says you are His favored possession. This favor doesn’t mean you won’t have troubles. It doesn’t mean you won’t taste the dust of adversity. It means so much more! It means as His child, His favored one, He will teach you trust and rest in every trial. You are getting to know Him and His ways better. You are becoming more like Jesus, who trusted the Father all the way even to the cross. This trial, this dragging through the dirt you are experiencing right now won’t last much longer. But you, beloved, will last! And He will dust you off and give you fresh anointing to go farther with Him than you ever thought possible.

God loves you and He’s for you. Don’t lament the process just cling to His heart. And rejoice that you will live in the Light of His favor and love always!

Jonah 2:1-2 Then Jonah prayed unto the LORD his God out of the fish’s belly. and he said, “I called out of my distress to the LORD, And He answered me. I cried for help from the depth of Sheol; You heard my voice.”

Psalm 94:14 or the LORD will not abandon His people, Nor will He forsake His inheritance

Psalm 9:10 And those who know Your name will put their trust in You, For You, O LORD, have not forsaken those who seek You.

About Rebekah Beene

In a Women’s meeting in 1983, I went up for prayer and to see if God had “anything for me”. The woman of God who was praying for people spoke over my life. She said these words: “You will write books. You can go to the bank on it. Rivers of living water will flow from your belly…”
