This morning I am reminded of what all we saw in the rehab hospital. We saw joyful hard working patients and we saw fearful uncooperative ones. We also saw people without another single person around them and another patient who had mother and sisters with him along with a prayer book for visitors to sign. We heard encouragement and we heard despair. Had I concentrated on anyone but Danny I might have gotten caught in others’ problems. But I kept focused on Him and what God had shown us all along.
Oh beloved. You truly have to keep your eyes on Jesus when you’re going through things. He is the One who is carrying you through. You don’t have to compare your story to anyone else’s. You are in this with Jesus and He knows your ending.
While you may not know where your story ends you can always know it ends with Jesus. And while others in your same situation may not have as good an outcome that is not your story nor your business. Focus instead on the Lord and on His Word. There’s a reason it’s called a battle and your mind is the battleground. Keep pressing into God’s Word for that is your Truth. Keep rehearsing the promises for that is your destination. When you have come through this trial you won’t be destroyed- you will be stronger than ever and full of renewed spiritual vigor. God is the One who gives you the power to look beyond the circumstances to the victory.
God loves you and He’s for you. Don’t ever let anyone else’s story steal yours. Rejoice in faith and keep stepping up to the Word. Keep calling on the Lord and give thanks. And live in the light of His overwhelming victory for you.
Philippians 3:20 For our citizenship is in heaven, from which also we eagerly wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ;
I Corinthians 1:7 Therefore you do not lack any spiritual gift as you eagerly wait for our Lord Jesus Christ to be revealed.
Psalm 119:15 I will meditate on Your precepts And regard Your ways.
Psalm 57:7 My heart is confident in you, O God; my heart is confident. No wonder I can sing your praises!
