Life at home had its not so stellar moments. One of the places we lived was especially stormy. So I decided to run away at the ripe old age of 10. I slipped out the back door and down the flight of stairs leading to the back yard. Finally I was out on the street. Where next? I quickly realized I had nowhere to go. And then the realization that it would be dark and suppertime both jolted me back to reality. My leaving came and went without another single soul knowing it.
Oh beloved, there is One who knows your life. He understands that you feel like running away. You think there’s nowhere to go. You cannot escape whatever it is you are going through. What can you do? Where can you go? How will you survive whether you are in your circumstances or away from them?
You can run to the Lord! He knows it all. He understands it so well. He has seen your life and your struggles and He says fear not. He knows your prayers. And He is working things out in His time, His way and for your good and His glory. If you have to run, run to Him. If you need to vent, pour your heart out to Him. If you want to escape, escape into your prayer closet and know that He answers.
You’re not the sum of your situation. You, beloved, are the walking evidence of His glory! You are the reason Jesus went to the cross, traveled through hell and rose again to live forever! Your destiny is not to despise things but to apprise them – pass on the glorious works of the Lord as He brings you through. You have the whole armor of God – wear it! You have the Word of God sword – wield it! You are covered in the Blood of the Lamb and you are filled with the very Holy Spirit of the Lord Himself! If you can begin to fight back against the forces of pain, rejection, fear and domination you will find that they must yield to God through you!
God loves you and He’s for you! This momentary light affliction you are in is working into a weight of glory for you! These prayers you pray don’t hit ceilings – they hit heaven! Foil the enemy’s plans today by running to Christ instead of living in Crisis! Rest in God’s promises, wait for Him to answer and live fully engaged as the chosen one you are to live in the Light of His Armor and Light!
