This year we are having our usual family gathering like every other year. The only difference is that I didn’t buy Easter clothes for the younger grands. It’s just something I like to do. Instead I bought new t-shirts for the three of them.
After all Easter really is all about new clothes and more!
Oh beloved, Christ went to the cross to give you new clothes! Hear me out. As a believer you can shed the old spiritually dead life and put on the Lord Jesus Christ! Walk in newness of life! You are a new creation! This is wonderful news!
As a partaker of the new covenant your life is hemmed in love! No longer trying to make God happy by trying to fulfill laws and rules and make yourself right with God, which no person could ever do – you are now made right with God. Old things have passed away – your whole life is brand new. The Holy Spirit is now your comforter – He helps you in your weaknesses, gives you fresh insight, causes you to discern God’s will and fills you with the knowledge of God!
Your destiny is now on course with the Lord of Heaven and Earth. You are now the righteousness of God in Christ. The Lord says this morning that your life is now a beautiful display of all the works of the Lord. You don’t have to live a life of regret even when things go wrong and you make mistakes. There is now power within you to withstand the enemy! You are fearfully and wonderfully made! You have been created in Christ to overcome obstacles, leap over walls, stand in faith, pray without ceasing, route demons, expand territories, preach the Gospel, love the lost, share your testimony, and partner with what God is doing in the earth today!
God loves you and He’s for you! No matter how bad or good you and I ever were, without Christ we were dead. But you beloved are alive! And you have new clothes! And God has given you this Resurrection and Life! Rejoice as you live in the Light of all that God says today!
2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!
Colossians 2:10 Put on your new nature, and be renewed as you learn to know your Creator and become like him.
Galatians 6:15 Neither circumcision nor uncircumcision means anything; what counts is the new creation.
Romans 8:16 The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God
Romans 6:4 For we died and were buried with Christ by baptism. And just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious power of the Father, now we also may live new lives.
