One of our favorite pastimes is to watch grandsons play ball. Last night was no exception. It was fun to root and holler for our seven year old as he was up to bat and as he ran for balls in the outfield. After the game was over one of his teammates exclaimed, “Yay! We won!” to which another teammate replied, “No we didn’t!” His face fell for a moment and then they were all smiles walking out on the field to say good game in unison to the other team.
Oh beloved, it may not always look like it but you are a winner. It’s life on the Jesus team that keeps you going even when things look bad. Don’t allow one moment of failure to decide your entire fate. Keep batting, keep running, keep looking for the win. And whatever you do don’t quit praying, praising and declaring. Others might reply in the negative but you don’t have to let them decide how you feel or what God is doing. Your destiny is not in the outcome of a game. Your destiny lies in the final outcome of life in Christ and you have already been declared a winner. You can shout, throw your hat in the air and jump for joy!
You’ve been given a great opportunity in this life to live it entirely for Christ. To be a teammate with the Lord, giving way to His plans, trusting in His mercy, resting in His grace and relying on His Holy Spirit within you. You don’t have to compare yourself with others or worry about what anyone else thinks about you. This is your strength – to live for the audience of One Who never condemns, always upholds, never removes His love and always restores your bad days.
God loves you and He’s for you! Let that anthem play loudly in your heart and mind as you walk into this day. Run to the Father and let Him speak His winning truths into your heart as you live in the Light of being a player for Him walking in Mercy and Truth!
