Let God Define You

By Definition

As four of us traveled together across two states yesterday we talked about the greatness of God and what He is doing in the earth today. Unprecedented seems to crop up over and over in conversation.

One of our friends asked for a definition of this word. She is from another country and they do not use it. She needed clarification. Once the word was defined she understood and could relate to it and thus use it in her own life.

Oh beloved. What words are you hearing and which words are defining you? If you hear negative, condemning dialog it’s not from God. You’ve been in need of a fresh interpretation of God’s thoughts about you and His intentions for you. He says His affections are great toward you. He says His banner over you is love. He says He delights in you. He says I Am your Savior and I know exactly who you are. His definition of you is all that will ever count. He uses words like cherished, chosen, redeemed, priceless, empowered, victorious, beloved! Let Him define you. And once you understand the meaning of His love for you you will never be the same.

God loves you and He’s for you. Let that define you, let that release you. This is the life you are meant to live. It will be, in fact, unprecedented. Rejoice as you search His Word for your definitions and live them out with confidence and trust all the days of your life!

Psalm 139:14 I will give thanks and praise to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Wonderful are Your works, And my soul knows it very well.

Psalm 139:5. You go before me and follow me. You place Your hand of blessing on my head.

Ephesians 1:11  In Him also we have received an inheritance [a destiny—we were claimed by God as His own], having been predestined (chosen, appointed beforehand) according to the purpose of Him who works everything in agreement with the counsel and design of His will AMP

I Thessalonians 4:1  We know, dear brothers and sisters, that God loves you and has chosen you to be His own people

About Rebekah Beene

In a Women’s meeting in 1983, I went up for prayer and to see if God had “anything for me”. The woman of God who was praying for people spoke over my life. She said these words: “You will write books. You can go to the bank on it. Rivers of living water will flow from your belly…”
