God won’t fail you because He can’t fail.
When it comes to the inner workings of my car, I can’t rely on anything within myself to diagnose, prepare for or fix it. I’m not equipped for that. But I have a husband who can fix just about anything. He’s got the equipment and the knowledge and the prowess to adjust, set up, reset and re-equip all our vehicles. So guess what? I have to rely on him. I will fail if I try to do more than turn it on and put it in gear. Could I learn? Maybe. Maybe not. But why bother. Why worry about that when I have someone who is far better than that. He’s not failed me yet.
Oh beloved, God wants you to know this morning that He won’t fail you. He can’t. It’s not in His character or nature to fail. He is so equipped at fixing your broken things that He had the plans for you before the foundation of the world. He knows you intimately and He is far better at fixing you – your life, your problems, your hopes, your dreams – than you will ever be. Face it, there are times when a believer is their own worst enemy – they will think the worst. Yet this Amazing God promises the best! You can’t go anywhere that God won’t find you. You don’t have to worry about being in “out of service” area or beyond the limits of His loving care.
He wants to remind you this morning that Jesus saved you. You did not save yourself. You couldn’t have been good enough or righteous enough or law-keeping enough. But Christ is all that for you and more. He’s your covering in the scorching sun of adversity. He’s your lifeboat in the downpour of hardship. He’s not going to fail you ever. Therefore you can trust Him. You can call on Him. You can expect Him to show up and show out on your behalf. He isn’t looking at your age or your ability. He sees both. And yet He says “Lo, I will be with you always”. He says even when you are old and gray I will be with you.
God loves you and He’s for you. Love Him in return. Rely on Him. Trust Him. Allow Him to do what only He can do. Even go so far as to not make a single decision without Him. All He wants is your whole heart for your entire life as you learn to trust Him because you love Him and you know Him. Rest in His promises and rejoice as you live completely reliant on the one who knows you best and loves you most!
