We Keep Our Eyes on Jesus

We keep our eyes on Jesus
Yesterday my husband gave us a scare. He got very sick quite suddenly. You have to know my husband just doesn’t get sick. Off we went to the emergency room. After testing and watching it was decided that all his symptoms left and he couldn’t have been as sick as we first thought. After about three hours he was released and we went home to continue our family get-together. Whether it was something minor or a serious illness – God arrested the situation and he is symptom free. I prayed over my husband and our serious prayer warriors were praying as well. And our children were praying. I couldn’t gather my wits enough to pray in the Spirit so I said “I’m praying in the Spirit” over and over!

Could the outcome have been different? What if? I don’t entertain what if’s and you shouldn’t either. This is a war, and it’s not physical. It’s spiritual and mighty through God to the pulling down of whatever strongholds you and I are facing. Just pray in faith and don’t allow speculations to deter you. Don’t pray the symptoms – pray the Word. God’s peace is your promise!

Oh beloved, God wants you to know this morning that you can call on Him for anything. You can pray about everything. You don’t have to be eloquent or perfect in speech or even know what to say. You have no need to ever worry about a single problem, symptom, discouragement or trial. Whatever is going on in your life you have an Advocate, Jesus, who went to the cross so that you would be saved to be sure. But this relationship is so much more. He is your peace that will pass all human reasoning and that peace will guard your heart while you are driving to the hospital, praying over your loved ones, hoping for answers or waiting on God. This relationship with Jesus gives you authority because you are seated in heavenly places with Him. The enemy comes to steal, kill and destroy. But Jesus reminds us in His Word that He came to give the more abundant life to His children.

When you cannot know what to pray you can trust God and ask Him for help. When you aren’t sure what you are going to do you can ask God and He will cover you. The Word tells us that Jesus lives forever to intercede with God on your behalf. You are safe always – because you are covered in Christ’s Righteousness and He has you covered in prayer.

God loves you and He’s for you. Love Him back with all of your heart. Don’t let the enemy intimidate you another moment. Pray big, audacious, outrageous prayers. Ask for the moon! Trust Him for the answers and watch for miracles, signs and wonders. Who knows but you were born for such a time as this. Your prayers activate the heavenlies and move the heart of the Father. Live for Jesus and seek His face as you fix your eyes on Him and rely on Him all the days of your life.

Hebrews 7:25 Therefore He is able also to save forever those who draw near to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.

Philippians 4:6-7 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Ephesians 6:18 Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.

About rebekahbeene

In a Women’s meeting in 1983, I went up for prayer and to see if God had “anything for me”. The woman of God who was praying for people spoke over my life. She said these words: “You will write books. You can go to the bank on it. Rivers of living water will flow from your belly…”
