Well we watched the movie War Horse when we came home last night. It is a magnificent tale of a horse that would not give up and could not be destroyed. At the end of the movie when it looked like he was going to be put down – his master, who was in the crowd of soldiers, gave the whistle the horse had known all his life. After the years of war and turmoil they managed to return to the family farm together where the horse lived out the rest of his life in the care of that master.
God spoke to my heart: We believers are war horses.
Oh beloved, we all need to know that life in Christ is a lot of time spent at war. We war for the heavenly calling that God gives us. We war for our friends and family. We war for our time with the Lord. We war for prayer, war for decisions, war for other soldiers of the Cross. We are much like that war horse in the movie – along the way we might get sold out, we could get trapped, shot at by the enemy and even entangled in the barbed wire of circumstances. But all the way our Master is with us. He’s cheering us on. He says fight the good fight of faith! He says run this faith filled life! He says He will untangle us, set us free, keep us going and in the end take us with Him to our heavenly home.
But we aren’t home yet. We are on assignment as a soldier of faith. We are entering into the blessings of walking in faith and changing lives everywhere we go. It’s a tough life to be sure. At times it’s hard to believe we will make it. But you and I are overcomers. We’ve already been guaranteed victory. We overcome by the Blood of the Lamb and the Word of our testimonies.
God loves you and He’s for you! Keep praying – God is already answering what you can’t see. Keep seeking – God is within you – you cannot fail! Rejoice that you can run to the Father anytime, anywhere and receive His help. And praise Him that the enemy cannot touch you – even though he may rear his ugly head at times. You are destined to receive the victor’s crown as you live in the Light of the Kingdom and Glory of God!
I John 5:4 For every child of God defeats this evil world, and we achieve this victory through our faith.
Proverbs 21:31 The horse is prepared for the day of battle, but the victory belongs to the LORD.
James 4:7 Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.
Romans 8:37 No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.
