Keep Pedaling

Riding my bicycle as a kid was a fairly dangerous thing. I wrecked pretty often on the old rock road we lived on in one town. But that didn’t keep me off the bicycle. I just hopped back on and went for more rides.

Oh beloved, God wants you to know this morning that He is with you. Life has precarious moments and you’ve been through a lot. Now is not the time to decide you don’t want to live for Him anymore. It’s time to cling tighter to His promises and keep pedaling! His plans for you include a ridiculously amazing outcome – heaven! But in between heaven and now there will be other wonderful times. If you will keep going forward you will realize the best is yet to come. Might you fall again? Possibly. Might you sail up and down the next mountain and lose your breath? Maybe.

But this life of faith is not one series of horrible accidents after another. It’s holding onto the Lord, living for Christ and staying filled with His Spirit. Flat tires won’t get you and I anywhere on a bicycle. Neither will flat lives. While we hate the pedaling up the hill and the burn in our legs, once we are at the top we can see the perspective God has known all along.

He says you are able. He says you are talented. He says you are full of faith. Believe that God knows what He’s doing. His ways are best. He will make you what you ought to be and give you strength to pursue the dreams you have inside you. Your ride through life is not about being good enough or earning your way or deserving the ride. It’s about allowing God to equip you for whatever comes ahead. And in the meantime He will give you blessed moments on mountain tops and He will see you through the wrecks in the valleys.

God loves you and He’s for you! Keep riding, keep pedaling, keep calling on Him to help. Rejoice that you are right in the center of His will. And rejoice that others are going to need to know that they too can keep pedaling. Enjoy your life of faith as you live and move and travel in His Presence all the days of your life!

James 1:2-3 Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. NIV

2 Samuel 22:31 As for God, His way is blameless; the word of the Lord is tested; He is a shield to all who take refuge in Him.

Psalm 105:4 Seek and deeply long for the Lord and His strength [His power, His might]; Seek and deeply long for His face and His presence continually. AMP

About rebekahbeene

In a Women’s meeting in 1983, I went up for prayer and to see if God had “anything for me”. The woman of God who was praying for people spoke over my life. She said these words: “You will write books. You can go to the bank on it. Rivers of living water will flow from your belly…”
