While out with some of our grandchildren this weekend we drove through the town I lived in as a teenager. I showed them my house and the church that their Popaw and I got married in. Not much looks the same. The house has been so changed that it’s barely recognizable. If I had been lamenting and longing to return before I didn’t anymore.
Reminds me of the Israelites in the wilderness. They wished they could return to Egypt. But they had quickly forgotten that Egypt was no place for them. They were being carried forward by the Presence of the Lord and yet they weren’t satisfied. A hardship to them was provision to God.
Oh beloved, God wants to take you out of the “old home”. He’s got plans for you that are out of this world! His pillar of fire by night will warm you with His loving care, while the cloud by day will keep you focused on Him instead of what you may encounter on the way. His ministry is truly “as you go”. As you go He will provide manna from heaven, He will put people in your path and He will give you the words to speak life to everyone along the way. But you, beloved, must learn to speak life to yourself! Don’t allow the enemy to steal God’s plans to prosper you and give you a hope and a future. The enemy will tell you it was better back then – when you weren’t sold out to Jesus. But you’ve experienced the good things of heaven and shared in the Holy Spirit! There’s no going back for you. It’s time to pray and seek His face to be closer than ever! There’s no power in remaining the same – it’s a new day! Power for living today is your greatest asset as a believer. Strength rises as you wait on the Lord and allow Him to direct your steps.
God loves you and He’s for you! Trust Him and praise His Name. While you are praising, trusting and following the Lord – the enemy will flee an your thoughts of the old life will disappear! Rejoice that you can live your entire life in the joy of Jesus following God all the days of your life!
Psalm 119:2 How blessed are those who observe His testimonies, Who seek Him with all their heart.
Mark 12:30 AND YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND, AND WITH ALL YOUR STRENGTH.’
Isaiah 40:31 Yet those who wait for the LORD Will gain new strength; They will mount up with wings like eagles, They will run and not get tired, They will walk and not become weary.
