Yesterday I learned that there has been a group meeting for prayer for 18 years in our town. Now I’ve known about other prayer groups and been part of them. But this one has been continually meeting for nearly two decades. Some members have come and gone, but the group has continued. Let’s face it someone in this group has to believe that God hears them when they pray. They also have to believe in the love of God because intercession is love. It’s fighting for someone else in the Spirit and fighting is love.
Love fights for us.
Oh beloved, do you know? Have you heard? God loves you! Do you also know and understand completely that God loves the ones you pray for? He lavishly loves every person on the face of this earth. He lavishly loves you! His love covers a multitude of sins – name a sin that His love does not cover? There is war in the heavenlies over each one you are praying for. As you carry them to the Lord in prayer, your love is what silences the enemy. He can’t fight the Agape love of God and that love is poured out through your prayers. That same love is what called each one of us to Christ.
This is the reality of God – His Love. For God is love! Christ shows the physical love of God by the sacrifice He made on the cross! But that loves goes further! Christ shows us the love by His march through hell. And He finishes His love by His resurrection. God’s love for you and those you pray for is beautiful, strong, steadfast and unimpeachable. You can’t do enough to gain it. It’s yours as a gift through grace and mercy.
God loves you and the ones you pray for. God is for you and He’s for the one who has strayed or changed or left or is held captive by whatever you can name. Go precious one, mighty believer, strong intercessor, great love giver! This is your day to move into the realm of the battle of love and pray without ceasing. Arm your weaponry with love and disarm the enemy’s lies and hate. Walk in favor as one who knows they are loved by God and rejoice as your prayers bring triumph while you live in the Light of God’s Loving Mercy and Grace!
Romans 8:38-39 For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
I John 4:16 We have come to know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and the one who abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.
I Thessalonians 5:17 Be unceasing and persistent in prayer.
Ephesians 3:18 And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep His love is.
