The weather has been so wonderful this week. Jonquils are popping out of the ground and spring blooming bushes are showing their colors. The lawns are even trying to show green. I’ve even seen buds on some larger trees. It’s lovely! It seems like spring. But this is the first day of February. Everyone is sure that winter will show back up in full force. It’s bound to happen. Just when we think winter was mild and barely showed up, you always hear that we’re in for it.
Oh beloved, God wants you to know this morning that you don’t have to wonder when the next bad spell is coming. He wants you to enjoy today. Don’t worry about tomorrow for He has already seen ahead. And because He sees ahead He has you covered. He says fatalism and pessimism aren’t gifts of the spirit at all. Your life includes optimistic faith in God’s plans being perfect for your life! Yes, the chill of troubles may come again, but life is meant to be enjoyed in Christ. If you see something in life that’s blooming just thank Him and rejoice in His blessings! You weren’t designed to live a cynical, gloomy life. Your destiny is to live as though life is eternal springtime and sunshine. In the Spirit of the Lord it’s always warm and delightful in spite of the outward circumstances. Here is your strength – that you live fully alive right now today. God can even change circumstances you have thought were just the way they are. You may see or hear the wintery chill is returning but you cannot know for certain. God is in charge of all that you see and all you do not see. His plans are to bless you with His presence all the days of your life! This is your power for living – to focus completely on Him and to thank Him when it’s beautiful and trust Him when it’s not.
God loves you and He’s for you! He gave you seasons to rest in His promises and delight in His tender loving care. It’s not about to be awful again, He is about to return for His own! Give thanks as you walk through the seasons with Him and live in the Light of His Providential Plan!
