One Christmas movie I have been able to watch is The Homecoming. The original episode for the recurring show was a Christmas setting in the depression. In this show a woman comes to town with toys for all the boys and girls. Elizabeth, one of the Walton children, manages to win a gift by reciting a Bible verse. As she opens it she finds a lovely doll – only the face was cracked. In a very traumatic scene she refuses it saying that it was dead!
Oh beloved, God wants you to know this morning that Christ is His gift to you! But there’s more. You are a gift to Him! Yes indeed! And even though you and He both know you have brokenness in your life, He will not refuse you. He specializes in brokenness. He is best at fixing what others would and do reject. He is more than willing and highly able to take you under His heart and love you just as you are.
More so than loving you as you are – the Lord Himself will take your life and redeem it – totally restoring it to better than original. He uses the born again life to give everyone a fresh start! You, beloved, are beautiful and perfect in His sight! No matter what sin has marred or man has damaged, God knows you and loves you and will not leave you feeling pain and agony over your former condition. Because – as a believer – you have been redeemed from your former condition! You are now a strong, victorious, magnificent believer!
God loves you and He’s for you! Saved from Hell, redeemed from your past, restored to His glory and destined for heaven! Rejoice that this day you can shake off the rejections and deceptions and live fully accepted in the Light of His Wonder Working Power.
Lamentations 3:58 O Lord, You have pleaded my soul’s cause; You have redeemed my life.
2 Corinthians 5:5 Now the one who has fashioned us for this very purpose is God, who has given us the Spirit as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.
2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.
Song of Songs 4:7 You are altogether beautiful, my darling; there is no flaw in you.
Isaiah 57:15 I live in a high and holy place, but also with him who is contrite and lowly in spirit.
